America's Best Contacts & EyeglassesReviews of americasbest.com

This place is the BIGGEST SCAM ON TV!! I called finally to make an appointment because I desperately need new glasses! $69 for two pairs of glasses sounds to good to be true but they’ve been around for a while so I thought well I’ll call and make the appointment. After I hung up I thought maybe I should call them back to MAKE SURE it’s going to be ONLY $69!and that’s when they told me!! Welllll, that’s just just for single vision glasses. I’m like what’s that? We’ll do you need bifocals? Yes I do! With line or without? With line. I’d rather have without but with line (check this out) $240 frickin dollars!! I have to have progressive lenses another $175 and I have astigmatism that’s another $100. BY the time I was done writing all the charges down the $69 glasses (for two pairs ) added to over $600 dollars!! I DONT have that kind of money!! It will be more that that because that’s for one pair. Double that!! This is a scam to get you in the door!! Who has that kind of money? Americas best just became Americas Worse!!!

When someone goes above and beyond for you It should be recognized. That’s why I am writing about Katlynn Tyler. I am from out of town and don’t have an eye dr here. I started having vision problems and pain. I made several calls and couldn’t get an appointment for a month. Until I spoke to Kaitlynn, she spoke with a nurse where she works and determined that I shouldn’t wait to be seen. Katlynn then spent a lot of time calling many places until she found me an appointment for the next day. I can’t thank her enough for what she did. Katlynn is a true asset to her field.

Courtney was excellent everyone at America best was I got my new glasses in Hoover the doctor the assistant and Courtney who helped me pick out the frames everyone was great very satisfied very happy thank you all for great service

The quality of the lenses provided by America’s Best is extremely low. The glasses I purchased were so scratched and cloudy within a couple of months that they were unusable.

The store I'm writing about is in Manchester, Ct and I had a very good experience there as the staff is both friendly and efficient. I had to change lenses and one of my frames but it was no problem and I'm very satisfied with the glasses I bought. Also, the brown tint is excellent for both day and night.

My husband went in for an eye exam a week ago at the Depew New York location (losson and transit). After the eye exam and picking out glasses. They took all his information and credit card and then said, just to let you know our system is down. We will contact you by the end of the day to let you know your glasses and card have been processed. We heard NOTHING. We gave them time and waited until next week to contact them. The following Tuesday we tried to call, no answer. My husband went down there. Girls sitting behind the counter playing with their cell phones chugging ice coffee. No greetings. No, can I help you. My husband asked for a copy of his prescription. They said the system was down. He was told there was nothing more they could provide. My husband offered cash for the prescription. They could not process that either because their system was down. My husband left with no answers and empty handed. My husband recently had retinal detachment surgery. The last 4 months has been hell. He almost lost his eye sight. It's literally been hell with multiple invasive surgery's. All he needed was a simple pair of glasses for his new sensitive eye balls. We really could not wait a month for a pair of glasses. We returned today (week later). Asked for a copy if prescription. It took them 15mins. To find it. We were lucky to get the prescription. I brought cash ready to pay. We asked to cancel the glasses order. We only got a verbal receipt???? I asked to have it placed in writing. She replied, I can not do that. The system is down right now. She started to smirk and became very confrontational. I told her I didn't trust that she wouldn't charge our credit card for the glasses. She couldn't believe I didn't trust her. I said, of course I don't trust you! You don't tell your customers when they walk through the door...oh, hey our system is down so GOOD LUCK! by the way, all the girls behind the counter are too busy playing on their cellphones. We are incapable of giving you a receipt because our system is down. She wouldn't even let us look at the paper with my husbands order on it! Why??????? This is not top secret! This is my husbands personal information! She refused to remove the eye glass price. She refused to let me see the order. She refused to let me pay in cash for the prescription. She refused to give me a receipt. I pointed out to her that I could clearly still see the visible charge for the glasses. Finally! Finally! After I pointed it out she THEN crossed out the glasses cost on the order. Other customers were coming in asking about their order. Sorry, our system is down

Simply awful. Cheap lenses that scratch easily even with anti-scratch coating, the progressive lenses they offer are the worst I have ever had, with a very narrow channel of vision that distorts midway from center. The staff is unknowledgeable and doesn't even note the center of your eye as is done at private optometrist or even Costco. Staff doesn't know what size frame is best for the strength of your prescription. Staff is RUDE. Even with insurance, if you need progressives and thin lenses, you will pay at least $150 to $225 for your glasses! Better to use Target, Costco or a private optometrist!
