The crew here is under trained. No explanation to anything and nobody cared to tell me what was going on. I had to call cooperate to get a clear explanation to the procedure. Additionally, there was not a DR available which was not communicated clearly online, during text questionnaire, or at check in. Tech was too relaxed with me, cursing was part of the conversation as if we were hanging out and not at a place of business. I informed about online exam
when I was taken back to the room. I told here that I was ok with it even though I had questions. Some how I ended up back at front desk and exam canceled. No real explanation. This is considered a Dr office where people expect a certain level of explanation and customer service above that of the every retail store. Need to retrain on customer etiquette and communication. Talking clearly and giving complete, concise, and accurate information that is parallel to the current situation. No allowing the customer to leave confused because of one associate not being able to explain. Another associate (manager) should have been called and No cursing..

Never Again
Decided to try America's Best (Pompano Citi Centre, Pompano Beach, FL) last month after my Target Optical exam b/c they didn't have anything I liked (they didn't tell me they make glasses from frames not purchased there. I mention this as it becomes relevant for this review).
I found a pair I liked and handed the script to the worker who was assisting me. She then hands me off to her manager to complete my purchase. It struck me odd. It's eye glasses, not a car dealership. I sit with the manager and she is inputting my script. She added all the expensive options I never asked for. It was nearly $400 without the frame and with only a small allowance from VSP because I learned later, it's out of network. I had to haggle and get it down to $209. I paid for my order and immediately had a sinking feeling something was "off".
6 days later, my glasses are in. I go pick them up. I oddly cannot see out of them. I thought it was due to wearing the old pair all day. I told the staff member I will test them out and come back if there's issues. Get home, still can't see. The lenses are convex and my peripheral vision is distorted with a fish eye lens effect. I cannot see far nor near at all. Nothing is sharp. It's as if I'm wearing a 10 year old pair. These are giving me a ton of eye pain.
I put back my old glasses on and put away the new ones. A couple of weeks later, I first go to Target to have them check the prescription in the new pair. They check out, so I go back to America's best to address my issues. They ask me to dig up the material used on my old pair. It's not relevant and sidestepping the issue that the glasses are unusable. Go back two days later and deal with the manager. She blames the script and said I needed my eyes reexamined. I balked and explained the script isn't wrong, it's the lenses that were not done correctly. She takes both my new pair and my current pair. Says the issue is on the doctor. Right axis is 140 compared to 120 on the old pair and blamed the difference instead of the poor lens shape.
She would only have them remade using my 2 year old script. I left, went to Target to obtain the old script. I had to wait a day to go back to America's Best (they are closed Sundays. After reading a ton of reviews, I learned there's a ton of negative reviews on poor progressive lens quality and issues where America's Best would not refund.
I decided to ask for a refund. I was at the 30 day mark. I go back yesterday and thankfully, the manager was not there, the girl who served me the last 3 visits was there and picked up the conversation where we left off. I advised it made zero sense to remake them using my old script. I purchased a new frame (same style) and had Target swap out the lenses as the other frame was partially broken. I already paid for a frame on top of the new pair with lenses.
I asked to be refunded. She obliged. She wasn't thrilled, but processed it. I am dead certain that if the manager was there, I would have been denied.
Lesson learned. Now that I know Target Optical can make glasses from any frame I bring in, I will stick with them. Their progressive lenses are the best I've used. Sharp images, sturdy lenses that do not scratch or scuff and these are the standard lenses.
I will never do business with America's Best again and it would be wise for you to go elsewhere. I am certain that they will keep the funds from the claim filed with VSP, so I am screwed out of my eyeglasses for this benefit year. Despite being refunded my out of pocket cost, I still was cheated.

I am very particular about the medical…
I am very particular about the medical services and where to go. I have anxiety so it's hard. When I come to America's best in turnersville, I feel very welcomed. The staff is always upbeat and very nice, and the doctor is fun. Great place to go for eyeglasses that are affordable AND fashionable. I was asked why I go there if they don't take my insurance and I told the girl exactly that. Fun, affordable and i don't mind waiting because of that. Today we need places like this. I will keep coming here as long as I need glasses.

Vacation disappointment
LAST UPDATE
Took 2 weeks to get a Saturday appointment at Costco on Beardsley, Dr. Joseph Olish. Yes he's that in demand, excellent experience.
A wonderful breath of fresh air. Performed all the checks, more than America's Best and gave me a prescription for my near/far contacts and for glasses as a backup. Very personable and informative. America's Worst never again.
UPDATE
We're back from our trip, had many problems due to not being able to see close while driving in a foreign country on the other side of the road. Often a threat to our safety. Can't whip out cheaters to look at the console while driving.
YOUR EYESIGHT IS EVERYTHING.
There are so many other places to get your eyes checked, use another vendor, the customer service at this location is bad, at least in my experience. Still no feed back from them. Do yourself a favor use someone else. Read the other one star reviews.
MY EXPERIENCE
Special needs, personal requests, avoid this location. Take the time to read the one star reviews. I wanted to get the same contacts as I had before. The doctor wouldn't give me the same contacts. He said he can order them but wouldn't give me the near and far prescription that I am used to and have worn for over 30 years.
I told him I was out of contacts and leaving the country on vacation, our flight leaves next week for New Zealand, please give me the prescription and I'll go to Costco and buy the contacts. Wouldn't do it, gave me a sample of contacts that are both for distance and a prescription for glasses told me to come back in two weeks. I haven't worn glasses for the past 40 years. I pleaded with him for the contacts prescription, he became indignant and said no.
His name is Doctor Abe Ibrahim
There are no certificates displayed in the establishment with his name on them. I asked to see his credentials and they have nothing available. I'm sorry, I'm so upset, he could have helped but chose not to.
I'm going to have to find another doctor to get contacts for our trip. Anyone with experience with this doctor please express yourself.

I have purchased two to three pairs of eyeglasses from this company, including their staff. They have excellent products, customer service, and follow up care. They are an excellent value.
If I could give this company more than a Five Star Review. You Bet I would!!!!!!!

Been to America's best a few times
Been to America's best a few times. My kids and myself. Employees are generally nice and helpful. Can take awhile as it is more of a slow-moving "fast-food" production like atmosphere than a doctors office. Cheap so I figured it is worth the mill-line. Made an appointment for 7/2/2022 to have an eye exam and updated prescription. Everything was fine when I was making the appointment over the phone (though there was some minor scheduling issues due to lack of training or knowledge of the computer systems) and nothing was mentioned that would be required for the appointment. Once there the lady at the front desk took a few good minutes to acknowledge me. I didn't think much of the fact that she was wearing a mask even though most of that had been over with months ago. After taking my information and everything was set for me to go into the exam she asked if I had a mask. She was muffled so I wasn't sure what I had heard. I asked her to repeat it and she said that since an apparent new rise in covid cases all America's Best are going to be requiring customers wear masks. This was news to me as no one had mentioned any of this when I was making the appointment. Didn't make sense as there is no mandate and no medical studies that back up the use of masks in prevention so insurance wouldn't require it. All I could figure is that it is a California based company. So I said no thank you and walked out.

Cost effective and friendly
I was able to get a quick appointment for a contact exam. The doctor was awesome and was able to figure out my needs without too much hassle. Costs were low and I didn't have any issues at all.

I could hardly believe my eyes They had a big sign advocating Sodomy
I could hardly believe my eyes. I went in to pickup my new glasses and inside the store they had a large sign advocating Sodomy. What kind of woke leftist filth are running that company??
