Allivet is a reliable pet pharmacy. My dog was put on a very expensive prescription medication. Luckily, Allivet offered it at a much lower cost than my vet could provide. The medication always arrived on time. I highly recommend Allivet.

Thank you so much for your recommendation! We know how quickly the cost of ongoing medications can add up, and we’re grateful we could help make your dog’s care more affordable.
It means a lot to have earned your trust, and we’re honored to be a dependable part of your dog’s care.

Customer service tried. The prescription fulfillment process failed.
UPDATE – October 6, 2026
On October 5, I received a personal phone call from AlliVet. The representative sincerely apologized for what happened and explained that the company is still investigating where the breakdown occurred in its prescription processing and fulfillment system.
I made it very clear that I did not want the customer-service representatives or supervisors I spoke with to be blamed. Every one of them did what their position allowed them to do. The failure occurred somewhere further up the chain, and it failed not only me and my six sick chickens, but also the employees who were trying to help us.
AlliVet issued me a full refund, although I specifically told the representative that I neither requested nor expected one. My complaint was never about money. It was about getting desperately needed medication to animals whose conditions were deteriorating.
I originally chose AlliVet because I had been told they were among the best options for poultry prescriptions, particularly after encountering difficulties obtaining the medication elsewhere. I genuinely believed they could help my chickens, and ultimately, they did.
The medication arrived in time for my two sickest girls, whom I had genuinely feared I might lose. They are now showing encouraging signs of improvement, and I am incredibly grateful for that.
I appreciate AlliVet reaching out, acknowledging the problems, and continuing to investigate. I hope their findings lead to meaningful improvements so that another customer—and another sick animal—does not have to experience what we did.
My original review remains an accurate account of what happened, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due.
Original Review
I ordered a veterinarian-prescribed medication for six sweet little Cochin chicks on September 24, 2026, at around 11-ish that morning. Allivet specifically sells medications for birds and chickens, so this was not an unusual type of order for their business.
My complaint is not with the customer service representatives or supervisors. Every person I spoke with was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to help me, even when I was not. My frustration is with Allivet's prescription processing and corporate fulfillment system, which repeatedly left those employees trying to fix problems they did not create.
When Allivet attempted to fax my veterinarian, the fax did not go through. I discovered the problem when I called Allivet at 2:06 PM Friday. Then I called my veterinarian myself. At 2:15 PM, I called Allivet back, explained that the fax would not work, and was told the prescription would be handled as an emergency and that my veterinarian would be called.
Monday morning at 8:25, I learned that the request had not been forwarded to the pharmacist until after 5 PM Friday. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and she made sure my veterinarian approved the prescription. I was assured it would be filled and sent by expedited next-business-day shipping.
By 4:25 PM it still had not been filled or shipped, so I called again and discovered that my original order had been canceled because of what I was told was a system glitch. I would not have known that had I not called.
A replacement order was created and later marked “Shipped.” However, FedEx showed that only the shipping information had been transmitted at 6:49 AM Tuesday, September 29. FedEx did not actually receive the physical package until 2:02 PM Wednesday, September 30—more than 31 hours after the label was created.
I also sent two emails Monday and received no response to either by Wednesday.
Again, I want to give credit where it belongs. The representatives I spoke with were compassionate and helpful, and the supervisors I spoke with Monday and Wednesday were as well. The problem was the process behind them. These employees should not have been put in the position of repeatedly apologizing for and trying to correct failures elsewhere in the system.
This was not a bag of treats or a routine supply order—not that those orders aren't important. It was prescription medication for six actively ill baby girls. By the end of this experience, my confidence that Allivet would do what I had been told had become extremely low,so low that I could walk on it. I repeatedly had to make calls myself to discover what had gone wrong and push the prescription forward.
I am grateful the medication is finally physically in FedEx's hands, seven days later, and on its way. But after this experience, I will not use Allivet again for prescription medication.

Hi Vicki,
Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback and for recognizing the team members who assisted you. We’re very sorry for the experience you had while trying to obtain medication for your chickens.
We understand that your primary concern was not any individual interaction, but the repeated breakdowns throughout the prescription and fulfillment process. You should not have needed to repeatedly contact us to identify issues, receive updates, or keep an important prescription moving forward.
Thank you for taking the time to speak with us.

SHIP TIME SUCKS
Pricing is fine. BUT 5+ days for the shipment to travel 2 hours Miami Lakes FL to Palm City FL?!?!?!?!? TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!
Response from AllivetOct 2, 2026
Hi Michael,
We’re glad to hear the pricing met your expectations, and we recognize how concerning it can be to see a shipment take several days to travel a relatively short distance.
To provide some clarity, the order was transferred to the carrier, but tracking shows the package remained within the carrier’s network for four days before continuing toward delivery. While carrier transit delays can occasionally occur after a package leaves our facility, we know timely delivery is especially important when ordering medication for your pet.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and your feedback regarding the delivery timeline.

Horrible customer service and utter incompetence
I have dealt with them three times now and every time there has been a problem. First time they say they didn't get the prescription and then they did. Most recently I mailed in a prescription for a med and dog food. They say they didn't get the prescription for the dog food. They were mailed in the SAME ENVELOPE! They left me on hold for a long time and came back and told me they were checking with their pharmacuy department and put me back on hold. They then came back and told me they would call me back shortly. Four hours later I called them back and got the same run around. After placing me on hold they came back and said he couldn't help me because the pharmacy closes at 3:30 and there was no one there. If it was possible to give a zero star rating I would. They are horrible!

Hi Bob,
We’re very sorry for the frustration and repeated effort it took to get answers regarding your prescription.
After reviewing your account, we were able to locate the missing prescription and found that it had become unlinked from your account, which is why our team was unable to locate it when you initially contacted us. We understand how frustrating this was, especially after you confirmed both prescriptions were mailed together.
We have reached out and left a voicemail because we’d appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly and help get everything resolved. Please give us a call back when you have a moment.

Awful communication/care
We jumped through the hoops to pick up a written, signed prescription from our vet office and snail mailed it to Allivet. It's was for my dog's heart medication - pretty important stuff. It sat on hold for a week until I reached out to them to see what the hold up was. They weren't approving it because the written rx was for a brand name and we had ordered a generic. Same damn medication, different BRANDS. No one from Allivet reached out to us or the vet to let us know there was an issue or anything. When I called, Allivet told us they could reach out to our vet to approve the generic. When pressed they then confirmed we actually had to get a new written rx from our vet for the specific generic meds and snail mail that in to them. Another week at least of waiting for it to ship. I cancelled my order and will NOT order from here again. Pet meds are not a game.
Response from AllivetSep 28, 2026
Hi Connally,
We’re very sorry for the frustration and delay you experienced, especially with an important heart medication for your dog.
After reviewing the order, we confirmed that the written prescription we received was for Vetmedin, while the order was placed for Pimobendan. Your veterinarian also specifically indicated that the prescription should be dispensed as written, so our pharmacy could not substitute a different medication without the appropriate authorization.
That said, we did not communicate the prescription issue to you as promptly as we should have. Your order remained on hold until you contacted us for an update, and we sincerely apologize for that lack of follow-up.
We have reached out to discuss your review and would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly. Please give our team a call at 877-583-1815 when you have a moment.

Allivet says resolve your own problems
The process to get my RX dog food was such a hassle and is taking way longer than it should. It’s been a week and still haven’t received it. Customer service reps were not helpful at all regarding confirmation of script and FedEx did not receive apartment number I provided Allivet. I contact Allivet to resolve this issue and was told I needed to contact Royal Canin since they are the one who shipped my order. This is unacceptable, poor customer service and delayed shipping.
Response from AllivetSep 28, 2026
Hi Minz,
We’re very sorry for the frustration you experienced while trying to get your dog’s prescription food, especially with the additional delivery issue after the order shipped.
After reviewing your account, we confirmed that the prescription was approved and the order was shipped directly from Royal Canin the following day. We also confirmed that your apartment number was included on the order you placed with us, and we are reviewing why that information may not have transferred correctly for delivery.
We attempted to reach you and left a voicemail because we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your experience directly.
