We travel with A+R on their On Safari in Kenya and Tanzania in August 2021. We were greatly impressed with the itinerary, the transportation in country, the accommodations, the knowledge and friendliness of the guides, staff and people of Kenya and Tanzania. To a person our A+R guides were SUPERB, not just in taking us to view the animals, but in their deep love of their country and the magnificent animals that were the centerpiece of the journey. One of the things that drew us to A+R was the variety that they offered in the accommodations, everything from a beautiful 5 star resort (Neptune Resort) to the true "safari experience" at the Lamal Tent camp in the Serengeti. While they call the experience "Glamping", it isn't all pampering - you do get up close to the animals and experience a taste of life in the bush albeit much better then just camping. One of the challenges we had, and A+R helped us through this, was in all the forms and paperwork necessary to enter the countries (eVisas) and to satisfy travel in a COVID world. A+R provides an option to use a third party company to obtain the Visas, we chose to use the online and cheaper method; I'd strongly recommend using the third party (Pinnacle I think) to get the proper VISAS; definitely worth the peace of mind to know you won't be denied entry. A+R did a great job of navigating COVID requirements to provide timely certified test result to satisfy requirements to enter Kenya, Tanzania as well as to return to the US. All in all, the trip exceeded our expectations of a Trip of a Lifetime.

This was definitely a Bucket List trip! First Class lodges, wonderful food, experienced guides, amazing wild animals - gorillas, lions, elephants, hippos, leopards, rhino, hyenas, vultures, many birds, antelope, giraffes, zebras, and so many wildebeest on their Great Migration in the Serengeti and crossing the Mara River by the 100,000's! Ended the trip with a romantic and relaxing stay at The Residence, Zanzibar, a beautiful resort on the soft sands of the warm Indian Ocean. This made for some wonderful memories for my husband and I to cherish. Special THANKS to Scott Avera, President of Alexander + Roberts for planning the trip and joining us on this journey!

Exceptional tour of Serengeti. Our guide was so knowledgeable and provided us the best experience of our lives. Our travel mates were fun, and it was great to know others in a small tour. Each camp we visited was so welcoming and we were served gourmet food in the middle of Africa. In addition, we were given opportunity to visit local school, Maasai village and an ancient archeological site and took a spectacular hot air balloon ride. However, the viewing of wild animal far exceeded our expectations. Thanks for providing memories of a lifetime.

This was the most memorable and amazing trip we have even taken. The staff that guided us and the locations/facilities chosen for this safari far exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Felix was exceptional and taught us so much about the wildlife and people of Tanzania. Before the trip, we wondered about the food that would be served. It was excellent and always more than we could eat. We are recommending this tour to all of our friends and family. Thanks for the memories. Bill

Our guide, Felix, was extremely knowledgeable about the flora, the fauna and the local culture and made every sighting "come to life", in a manner of speaking. We saw all the "Big Five" including the black rhino (hadn't been spotted in months), among many, many others, and never returned from a game drive without sighting something unusual every time. And, all that was not just luck! As far as the food and the accommodations were concerned, everything was taken care of from a pin to an elephant. The staff everywhere was super friendly, every meal was superlative (wine/cocktails included), and the accommodations would hardly qualify as "tenting" (flushing toilets, warm water showers and wake-up calls with tea/coffee and cookies delivered to your tent every morning). It was truly a very luxurious experience. Totally worth it!

This was our first time using Alexander & Roberts and will definitely not be our last. They hire excellent local guides that are not only knowledgeable, but personable. The guides took such good care of us that I was never worried or anxious. In Machu Picchu, I accidentally left my daypack (passport and wallet) at our last photo spot. Our guide RAN back UP the hill and retrieved it for me. She was in good shape! The accommodations were outstanding and they reflected the feel of the various areas. If I were to return, I would stay at these places again. The pacing of the tour was good; I didn't feel rushed or bored. Excellent tour.

Our trip to Africa Safari and Mountain Gorillas with Alexander and Roberts was awesome. Every detail and need was taken care of. All we had to do was enjoy the time. This was my second trip with A&R, Machu Picchu, and now Africa. Both were unforgettable experiences. Those one in a life time. And A&R made it so easy and comfortable. I would absolutely recomend A&R again and again. In fact I have. I tell anyone wanting to experience a trip like this how great it is to travel with A&R. What makes it so great is the care and experience they provide to handle all the details. They handle all the travel, accommodations, food, everything. And all first class. They truly live up to the expectation to have the best trip ever. I will continue to use A&R for my travel. You will not find a better or easier way to travel. And very much worth the money. A&R is my go to travel host from now on.

Kathy Rieger was an outstanding Tour Director. I sincerely compliment her performance and give her very high marks for the trip’s success. Both planning by A+R and participation by the travelers was a challenging experience under Covid-19 protocols. Through the years I have been a more independent traveler who has put more value on seeing the sights & experiencing the tourist benefits of a particular locale. Spending time at seated midday meals, ordering the food, and waiting for a group of 17 to finish and freshen up before reloading the bus has not been a priority for me. I am more a fan of something quick and simple that could be consumed on the go. I am guessing this approach would also be less expensive. Overall I enjoyed the trip. My primary regret was the arduous flying experience both getting to and returning home to Texas from Alaska. Thanks for all your efforts to make the trip a success.
