When i first signed up with Aetna prescription plan I asked how much my medication would cost. I was quoted a price for each. I switched from my previous prescription plan from another co. I just got my medicine filled for the 1st time using Aetna I was shocked at the price. I quickly called Aetna and they said I had to reach a $615 deductible first. Once I met that deductible my medication would be the price I was originally told. I told the representative i wasn't informed about this deductable when I first signed up in dec 2025. He apologized that I wasn't informed. Needless to say i was very upset about it.

I called in asking for information about how to log in. They asked me for my member ID, which I didn't have, which is why I was trying to log in in the first place. They ended up yelling at me, telling me that I was wrong and I needed my member ID, and we kept going in circles for about 30 minutes.

They say they have an eyewear benefit, but it is a complete lie.

Aetna gave me a health card with out of order toll free numbers so when the providers or the customer called they couldn't get through to them and then when we did get through by looking up another number for the pharmacy the pharmacy people told the providers that I didn't have Aetna insurance and they started to charge me and that sent me high bills why did I buy plan n and get these high bills I feel Aetna is a fraud I've been trying to call Edna for 3 months and every time I called the phone number the phone numbers are not in service why did I pay $1,200 for a year and it doesn't even work a very dissatisfied senior citizen here.

Poor customer service! Horrible transportation service . Left stranded at hospital in severe pain , waiting 6 hours for a ride home from another city that never showed . Also, left waiting to go to doctor after post-op in a another city. My health and well-being were both in Jeopardy here both times .Had to pay for my own way through Uber and Lyft both times following major surgery . Aetna refused to compensate me. Incompetent dental services. Dentist office abused insurance and my credit card selling services and products that were not needed or were supposed to be covered .Untruthful about food benefits following hospital stay for major surgery. Refused to allow continued home physical therapy after complications from major surgery for a disabled person With low vision .Clueless and careless, cold. Do not waste your money with this insurance company. Still fighting for my money that was taken from me by a crooked dental office. It's a merry-go-round for 6 months now. When you tell them you've been in pain and you're suffering they just want to get off the phone .Beware

My medicine was due on Friday morning, Aetna would not even let me get a few! I had to go with all weekend without because of these suckers

Have had several issues with high deductible HSA plan. 1. Last year paid $30 copay for primary Care. This year $208 because haven't met deductible. 2. Resolution of a bill received by hospital for 1/24/24 surgery that hospital resubitted 3 times, adjusting dollar amounts, under 2 claim it's. Ultimately bill 11 months after surgery with monthly calls to Aetna to resolve, although has stated we dont owe anymore, I was sent to collections. No one at Aetna owned the issue. Now have formal complaint entered. Told 7-10 days for callback, when called on day 11 told 30 calendar day to respond. 3. Denial RX twice. First was due to not having info that is never been asked before for this medication. Horrible customer service, Horrible management when people have issues, no call backs, no owning an issue. I'm pretty low key and understand a lot but not this. Coming closer to retirement and I know one company that won't be considered for supplemental insurer.

I had to switch my insurance from Priority Health (who I give a 4.5 star review) to Aetna at my company. I had been on some prescriptions for more than two years and Aetna employed the deny, delay and defend tactic to avoid having to pay. My doctor filed for a continuation of care authorization with documentation showing I met all their specified criteria. They denied it. I called and spoke to their international call center (horrible communication) and they couldn't tell me the specific reason for the denial. They suggested we appeal with more documentation. My doctor submitted more documentation as part of the appeal. The appeal was denied, but only provisionally (to prevent being able to go to an external review). I called and talked to the international call center for over an hour to try to get a clear answer of what they required. I then submitted every possible health record supporting my claim - note that I am very clearly within their criteria for the medication. They continued to deny but without giving me a final disposition. If you have a choice at all, DO NOT go with Aetna. They are among the worst at communication and will avoid allowing your claim until your either give up or die.
