After 8 months of waiting: great Nova Large bag, but a terrible customer service and waiting time
Update June 8th: just picked up the package from Wool & Oak. Product-wise, the Nova Large bag fulfilled my high expectations. What a beautiful product! I'm really glad it finally arrived. Customer service wise, I still have to conclude that communication was very, very bad. Leaving aside the 8 months, I constantly had to ask for updates. And even then it was still the question whether I would get an answer. Seriously Wool & Oak: your great products deserves a much better customer service. Let alone your most important audience: your customers. I'm still dissappointed they did not apply pro-active communication and refrained from offering some form of compensation. Hence, my total appreciation will be 3 stars. Update June 4th: like it's a miracle, Wool & Oak sent me a message that my order is on the way. FedEx confirmed the shipment. I will update this review as soon as the product arrives. Nevertheless, it's still very dissappointing that along the way, my order wil probably arrive at least 5 months(!) later than projected AND I had to ask for updates, instead of being pro-actively informed. Also Wool & Oak did not offer any ways of compensation for the extremely delayed order. Needless to say, I hope the product will be great, but the service still is very dissappointing. Last year I came across the Nova bag of Wool & Oak. The bag itself and the concept look great, so I decided to order one in November 2023. When I bought the Nova bag, the website had set the shipping date at February 2024. In the meantime the Nova bag still hasn't arrived. Because of this, I emailed Wool & Oak several times, receiving replies that looked very sloppily copy-pasted. Sometimes I would receive the same standardized answer after sending a new email. This company gives me a lot of scam vibes. If they aren't scammers, their customer service really sucks and they do not keep their side of the bargain. I could only recommend them (again) if they deliver their products (in time). Here is a short overview of my experiences with their customer support: 28 Feb 2024: asked when my Nova bag would arrive, because the website changed the ETA from February 2024 to June 2024. Wool & Oak replied the same day by saying: 'Our bags were shipped yesterday from India. We are now expecting them to arrive here in the US around the third or fourth week of March. Your order is included in the first batch that will be shipped on the 1st week of April.' In the first week of April the Nova bag still didn't arrive. 17 Apr 2024: Nova bag still didn't arrive. Asked again. The answer this time: 'Due to an unexpected customs clearance examination by the U.S. Customs Border Patrol, there has been a delay in the shipment of our products. This situation is highly unusual and entirely beyond our control. We understand your excitement to receive your order, and we share in that excitement. (...) Our freight forwarders estimate that our inventory will be released and delivered to us today. After we receive the inventory we will move as quickly as possible to get your order processed and shipped out.' 23 Apr 2024: Asked again for an update. The answer: the new reason now are 'unforeseen challenges with a container held at the port for an extended period, preventing us from releasing its contents.' Directly after receiving this answer, I replied by asking where to file in a formal complaint, because a refund was not possible (anymore). This question still remains unanswered. 2 May 2024: After a week without an answer, I repeated my question where I can file a formal complaint. The answer: the exact same text from the email I received from Wool & Oak on April 23rd. This made me highly suspicious. Like they didn't even take the effort to read the content of my email. I didn't even mention the delays, just where to file a formal complaint. Straight after this new copy-paste email, I replied by repeating my question: where I can file a formal complaint. Since almost three months have passed now, without a satisfying answer from Wool & Oak, I see no other option than to write this confronting review. Unfortunately I cannot rate this company as trustworthy. Be aware that the chances are very high that you are being scammed. So think again if you consider buying their $505 Nova bag.
