Bad Customer Service
My guest and I booked a room through Joy from our friend's wedding site. When we arrived, the hotel room provided had substantial issues, including outlets not working, which would make it difficult for me to stay there -- I use a medical device to sleep. When we brought it up to the front desk, the hotel offered to move us into a different room without any pushback. At the end of our stay, we asked about a partial refund due to the price difference in the room we received. We were directed to work with Joy. Upon contacting Joy, they were quick to say their hands were tied because the hotel would not approve a partial refund, and the hotel is the only one that can issue a refund. When I contacted the hotel, the manager said they had no spoken to anyone on behalf of Joy, and said they were more than happy to approve a partial refund - unfortunately, Joy has to approve it since we booked our room through them. Sure... I reach back out to Joy, who continues to stonewall the issue until I file a dispute with my credit card. Once that happens, they're more than happy to work with both me and the hotel to find a resolution. But oh wait... since a dispute was filed, they can't process the refund till it's closed. Well, balls in their court -- they have until September to respond to the dispute, or I get to keep the full refund. I was more than happy to accept a partial refund for the difference in room pricing, but if Joy doesn't want to participate with the customer, I'm happy to keep the full refund from my credit card company.
