WithJoy was the most reasonable site to pay for but it comes with lots of frustration. Guests who edit their names end up getting duplicated. You can't remove a single person out of a party unless you delete the whole party. There's only 3 text blasts of reminders from 6 months, 3 months, and 1 month, otherwise you have to pay $50 for unlimited reminders and custom blasts. ALSO if you have guests that aren't tech savvy... you will be upset trying to teach them how to RSVP. For reference, I'm a bride that is hosting a large wedding. We sent out 600 invitations.

While technically functional, the site is incredibly difficult to build and especially the registry has been a nightmare. They’ve had so many issues procuring items from our Crate & Barrel registry and there is virtually no customer service. Would not recommend them at all.

They are probably little different to the other players in the cynical wedding market. I felt I got stung by using the recommended places to stay links (which showed the accommodation as being close but it wasn't), with the 'special' discounts, only to have that discount wiped out by an extortionate service fee at the time of booking and this was missed (by me) in the process of trying to book the venue for more than one party. Maybe its all just part of the great wedding rip-off jamboree

So: creating the website was very painful. Really slow loading times, lots of latency, painful to put together, but it did look decent once we'd gone through that painful process of getting it made, and RSVP system worked, so some credit there. What started to frustrate me was the money-grabbing element of it. We saw they had an inbuilt gift registry system and thought that since we'd already built a website that it would be easiest way, but they didn't provide a way for guests to do direct bank transfers or a paypal integration, and charged a minimum 5% fee on contributions - one very generous aunt wanted to give £500 and was going to get charged £27 and contacted me because she thought it wasn't appropriate. Several guests were put off and did the same, and they also default people into buying £6 e-cards! They claim the transaction fee is a foreign card fee, but when I mentioned to support they lied to me and said it was only a 2.5% fee or something. Was really off-putting, and I had to put in lots of info about how to circumvent WithJoy's fees to avoid embarrassment. A sad frustration on an otherwise lovely wedding experience

Do not book with them, and tell all your friends Their website glitched and added an extra night on my hotel. I realized this as soon as I got the confirmation. I contacted the hotel my travel agent and the app within 5 minutes. Everyone else answered saying Joy had the final say. They took 3 days to answer. They claimed I would get my refund and asked for additional documents which I provided. The day my booking was set to start they claimed the hotel said no refund and they advocated for me through a “travel partner” they aren’t allowed to name and couldn’t get a refund. Whenever I sent them screenshots of their own agents words or the hotels words they stopped answering for 2 days and then had someone else who didn’t know my case take over. I’m due to check in tonight and even after a month of a fight I don’t have my money. I’m maid of honor in a wedding next month, and after this we opted to use “The Knot” instead :) Refund for 1 night was issued after this post was made. Updated from 1 star to 2, because I got my money back, but it never should have been this difficult and should not have required public shaming, so still a terrible experience just mildly less terrible.

The mobile UI (both app and website) are genuinely horrendous. Everything needs to be done on a PC. There’s a lot of delay for every action and it’s just clunky. Would not recommend

Free until it isnt. I was excited for a free/low cost wedding website that didnt have a lot of cost. But once in the website, for the features you need and want, everything is behind a paywall. Want to send texts messages to your guest.. pay money. If you want to layout your seat chart.. Pay money. Invitations... ended up paying so it had appropriate info and design. Also, design is not intuitive. It can be hard find things that you know exist because you stumbled across it before.

It wasn't easy to populate the forms - sometimes I would lose the formatting and it was VERY difficult to figure out how to get it back. All the sneaky ways that I was getting charged for things was VERY off-putting. I would have preferred UPFRONT information about fees before I wasted so much time. Charging to text message guests is gross. Paying for simple invites that I sent digitally - stupid. I will never recommend this site to anyone. There are much better options.
