Free trial is a scam
I signed up for a one month free trial, I cancelled my account the same night after finding the content simplistic and unhelpful for anyone who has simply opened a book on ADHD before. The bigger problem came when I double checked the account to confirm it was cancelled and saw there was a separate subscription for ebooks (which I never provided separate authorization for) still active which was not referenced/included on the page where I initially cancelled the account, essentially you sign up for a trial subscription and they (without communicating to you) split it into 2 separate components that are billed separately. When I tried to cancel the 2nd ebook component I received a message that I would have to email them to cancel it. After sending the email I received a response saying they were looking into the matter, further delaying/restricting my ability to cancel the subscription that I never authorized in the first place. Further, they state that it is a 30 day free trial, however, after checking my bank statement noticed that they had already billed me for 2 separate charges. It now makes sense why they don't allow you to sign up for the trial subscription with an AMEX card. Had I put this on one of my Amex cards, Amex could/would have dealt with this immediately. Now I'm stuck having to put a freeze on my account and wait until Monday to speak with my bank. The worst part of this all is that they seem to be deliberately preying on their ADHD customers disability by creating a wildly convoluted process and misleading people into thinking their accounts are cancelled when in fact they are not. I wish I had Reddit prior to signing up as I would have seen many other people they've scammed with this. I will be filing a complaint with the consumer protection beauru in my state and discussing other legal actions with my attorney.discussing with my attor. While the amount of money (~$35) is small, the fact that they're deliberately scamming people they're claiming to help is abhorrent. Im guessing 85%+ of their positive reviews on here are fake.
