WhistleReviews of whistle.com

I rely on the whistle for many years to make sure my dogs exercise well and for assurance of safety since one of my dogs is skittish and will not go to anyone should he ever get loose. I love this product!

Customer service has been moved out of country and reps are hard to understand and not helpful. Products are not holding up and are getting too costly if trackers need replaced yearly. Will not recommend.

I've been a Whistle user for almost 4 years and the service is the absolute worst when you need it the most - away from home. We are outdoorsy people and that means being in remote areas so I understand the limits of this technology requiring a cellular signal but if my phone has a data signal then I expect this piece of equipment should have enough signal also. It does provide a degree of "piece of mind" that we should be able to track our fur baby if she were to take off so we keep the subscription active. Although, we went on vacation 2 months ago and the web access map still shows the dog in that location. The unit has been powered on and worn many times around the neighborhood and around town since we returned so why does it still show her on vacation? Now, after almost 4 years we are being forced to upgrade due to Verizon shutting down their 2G CDMA signal and all Whistle offers its loyal customers is the same $30 discount it offers to everyone else? Very poor taste in my opinion. I guess it's time to find a different tracking solution - one that actually works when you need it to.

Spoke to Andrew this AM on upgrading my Whistle. Glad to see there was an existing customer discount. Very speedy response and I just ordered my new Whistle Go.

I had a hiccup at the beginning where I ordered a device and then canceled that order. I canceled because they were out of stock of the item and I needed it for a trip. I ordered another item (that I was told was in stock and could be shipped by the end of the week) and there was some confusion. Upon trying to figure out what was going on with the order and all some customer services reps were not on the same page which caused confusion to where my new order was. After speaking with 1 customer service rep we were able to figure out the confusion. the whole process took little over two weeks before I finally got the product. The reduction from 5 stars is merely because the customer service needs to be on the same page with each other and with those in charge of shipping and stock of items. Additionally, the chat function is great and all it just seems to take a while to get information or to get confirmation to cancel orders. The chat function also transcribes all chat so if you have an issue you have the representative's name and what was said. As for the product. It is really cool. It has a sleek design and works just as advertised. you do need wifi to set up the device, which was difficult being away from home. If I could make a suggestion that would be have options when the pet is in the safe area only notify when they are x feet away. My dog is still in the safe area but due to all gps not being perfect yet it shows my dog still in the safe area but anywhere from 30-100 feet away from "home". this causes a whole bunch of notifications stating that your pet is x feet away from home; even tho they are still in a safe area. I really appreciate that they were able to negotiate a month by month payment method for the At&t subscription so that my bank account doesn't need to take a hit once a year and I can accurately assess my monthly/yearly spending. As for the app i really enjoy it. it is easy to use but I am lost on some functions. granted I am not the best with technology but, if there was a tutorial/video to explain all the functions that would be perfect. (there may be a video I just haven't been able to find one yet) overall the product is great. I just warn you before buying call and ask all of your questions.

Love The Whistle, we bought it because someone had recommended it (we didn’t even realize there was GPS tracking for dogs). We unfortunately had a 13 year old dog that our friends were babysitting for us & she wondered off when they weren’t looking, we were devastated. We NEVER wanted this to happen again, so having The Whistle makes us feel safe. The only negative thing I can say is that we’ve had it for 1 year now and the battery is dying a lot quicker than when we 1st bought it. Otherwise, we love all the capabilities!

Doesnt log a history of my dogs location. Will obly take 5-10m snapshot of rough location. I'm writing this bc my dog left the yard, and now when I really need the gps , its not locating! Also battery is 3 days tops. And they say 7! 😞 Tired of liars.

I received a clear response quickly for every email I sent. I sent around 7, which gave me the confidence that upgrading would be the best thing for our family dog. Thank you so much! Although I hate to move from Verizon I am hopeful that the product is worth the chance. I love that the new whistle Go Explorer has real time, longer battery, more water coverage and a night light. In addition, I dont lose my current subscription, it will transfer over. Many thanks to the staff for making the process amazing. The Q & A, shopping and response time was awesome. Sharon Stepinski
