WD WAS an excellent company with an amazing and robust hard drive lines. Since 2018, with the introduction of the SMR DRIVE PLAGUE, it has GONE DOWN THE DRAIN, specially with external DRIVES (and even in the RED NAS line, now splitted into 3 lines to avoid LAW SUITS!) WD DOES NOT inform the consumer about the drives that ships in the external enclosures, and currently (12/2020) is shipping LOW BUDGET SMR drives with all 2, 3, 4, and 6 EXTERNAL enclosures. More to come? I was an WD customer for the last 20 years... have many many drives, but i REFUSE to stand by a company that tries to DECEIVE customers with FLAWED TECH without telling them what they are buying. SMR is BAD. It's a way of making MORE $$$$$$$, and it will cost many customers their DATA. SHAME ON YOU WD!!!! NOTE: if you want to know WHAT you just bought, get the DRIVE MODEL and compare here in the "HDD Platter Database" (google it please!)

Posseggo un WD elements da 2tb, non ha più funzionato all’improvviso, recupero dati onerosissimo, tutte le proposte dell’assistenza non sono andate a buon fine, nessun cambio di prodotto e niente, mai più WD perché posseggo un hd esterno di tutte le aziende più famose ma una cosa del genere non è mai successa.

Did not receive goods, investigated, took 3 weeks to say they would refund me, then offered me a discount code for all the hassel, excepted offer but never received, last phoned them on Friday to be told issue esculated and I would get call Monday with code, I asked guy could I speak to someone else as did not belive him, he promised again it would be sorted. Monday here and phonelines closed at 1730hrs and no call! Worst customer service I have ever come across in my entire life and just fob you off with what yo want to hear to get you off the phone. Avoid this company at all costs!

Habe mir damals eine neue Festplatte (1TB HDD) bestellt. War nach weniger als einem Jahr defekt. Nachdem ich einen Ersatz erhielt war diese Ersatzfestplatte nun nach knapp über einem Jahr und kurz nach Ablauf der Garantie wieder defekt... Alle Daten sind nun weg. Und nicht nur das. Nach Ausbau habe ich bemerkt mir wurde als Garantieersatz eine "Recertified" Festplatte geschickt. Also eine Festplatte die wahrscheinlich schonmal Transportschaden o.Ä. erlitten hat und dann halbherzig getestet wurde. Sowas ist einfach dermaßen kundenunfreundlich. Nicht nur wird hier gespart ohne Rücksicht auf den Kunden, sondern zugleich anscheinend sichergestellt, dass der Kunde geradeso über die Garantie kommt und dann ist dem Hersteller ja egal ob die Daten weg sind. Wer Zuverlässigkeit und Langlebigkeit von einer HDD erwartet sollte woanders suchen.

Ordered a Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSO 5ooGB on 14th Oct. £96.99. Site specified next day "dispatch". 18th today. Not arrived. Checked tracking. Dispatched from Netherlands! I chose a site with a BRITISH address to order from deliberately. Not interested in dealing with a European Depot should I have problems. Looked on the website. No "topic" allows you to contact them re delivery - or indeed any other kind of problems. Customer Service Dept doesn't appear to exist. VERY disappointed. Cancelling purchase.

My drive arrived and promptly died. Having a hard time making contact with customer support OR getting an answer from them (multiple attempts). The invoice says, "Shop With Confidence. 30 Day Money Back Guarantee." - Don't believe that! UPDATE - Finally got a response from WD saying I could return the item which I did. It is now one month later BUT I still have not heard anything further and have not received my refund. I cannot urge you strongly enough to avoid this company!

Fraudulent customer service, laughably unreliable products. I had one of their mypassport drives fail on me for no reason. I sent this back - they don't even pay for return postage - how cheap is that? A replacement was sent out to me. Ridiculously this one failed after only 3 months of occasional use. Again I returned it, once again having had to pay the postage myself. There was no response from customer service after a number of weeks so I asked for a follow up. Eventually I got a response claiming that the hard-drive had been tampered with by me and that I would be denied a replacement. This is 100% false. This is literally the worst product experience that I've ever had. From other trustpilot reviews I don't seem to be the only one who has had this lie used on them!

Een HDD rechtstreeks via hun site besteld. Deze is defect aangekomen. Op geen enkele mail wordt gereageerd. Bellen blijkt onmogelijk want je krijgt niemand persoonlijk aan de lijn. Ticket aanmaken lukt niet. NOOIT meer via WD een product aanschaffen. Weer een bedrag weggegooid.
