Wonderful company to work for. We ordered a wheelchair for our Beaux Beaux and he gained his angel wings before we received the wheelchair. I reached out to the company and they responded almost immediately and made sure that they were able to stop the shipment and refunded our money. I would not hesitate to order from them again .

Not honest, hidden costs
I bought wheels for my dog who very suddenly couldn't use his back legs. This took 3 people (2 of whom are architects!) 2 hours to assemble. Then my dog suddenly died a few days later, and before using the wheels. When i called, they said under the circumstances, they would give me a full refund minus the shipping cost. This did not happen. They kept 1/3 of the purchase price. Buyer Beware

Game changer for our Pug
Game changer for our Pug! Loki has a weak back end, like a lot of elderly pugs. He is now running with us in tow after fitting him with the Walkin' Pet harness. Took him no time to realize he had stability and felt safe - just a little lift and he is OFF! No problem getting him to wear the harness and now he is excited that it's part of his walking routine.

Frustrating & Ineffective
Bought the back wheels a year ago. Now my beloved pup can not use his front legs much. So I ordered the front wheels. The Handicapped Pets company held up my order because they didn't have organization and couldn't find my previous order, and rather than simply send me what I'd purchased, we had to go around with emails for a few days.., though I'd ordered correctly and paid.
I got the front wheels, and it only took an hour and a half to assemble. The product, even at half price, is nearly useless. The front wheels I ordered fit onto the back wheels I have. The front wheels are small and get caught on little cracks, stones, divets in the pavement...
My dog cannot move the cart well now since his legs aren't working much. And there's no place to attach a leash to pull him. He tipped over many times, so I basically had to hold onto a handle on his harness to help him, and attach the leash by wrapping it around the back and pulling him.
It's an overly complicated design to assemble, and was partly assembled, wrongly... The directions are missing a few steps.
The company is arrogant and has terrible customer service.
The wheels cart is overpriced by twice or more what it should be. It's rickety, and the plastic hooks are super cheap and come off easily. The metal buttons are difficult to use, to slide the extension rods to adjust size.
I'm pretty disgusted. We were really hoping this would help my pup. But the wheels on the front only work on a smooth surface like a patio. Obviously the world is not one big patio. We need to go over the deck, on some small rocks, grass, the patio, the driveway, to reach the street. The cart is very frustrating and my dog and I did not have much fun.
Bigger rugged wheels, like the wheels on the back, or round balls instead of wheels on the front might be an improvement.
The ricketyness of the heavy metal pieces could be improved.
Customer service could be improved.
The price should be $150 for the rear set up, and $100 for the front wheels. At max. I paid over $700 for both. I bought the camo front even though it did not match the blue back because it was half price. Full price the front and back together would have been close to $900.
Obviously, someone wiht a disabled dog is paying a lot in vet bills and going through emotional distress losing their beloved pet slowly. So the arrogance of the company making the really cumbersome product so expensive is galling.
There should be ways to pull the cart, and to keep it balanced, without having to hold onto the dog. The dog fits on the cheap straps with rubber cushioning, and there's a long end for the straps to velcro around the dog, but that's useless: the dog still tips over in the cart, and strapping him in just means that the cart falls on top of him.
Since the dogs who use these carts are unable to walk, we have to lift them in. Lifting a sixty pound dog, to put his back legs in the hoops, and his front legs in the hoops, is not easy and there is no design solution to make it easy.
Having the harness for the front when we didn't have the front wheels on made it a little easier, but now there's no way to attach that harness. So I lift with the harness and a strap under his groin and try to get his legs in the loops. It's a real strain on both of us.
It's very ineffective and very frustrating. Surely you can do better. At least try.

The products that have been developed in-house are continuously going about an improvement process. We truly do listen to the feedback of our customers. We truly do see our customers as our partners in the goal of allowing pets of all kinds to enjoy a great life. We are sorry that you have found our product and service to not be what you were hoping. I can share that our team members do reach out to our customers on specific orders to lessen the chance of the wrong product being ordered. The team at Walkin' Pets is keenly aware of the time lost if any product needs to be returned. As a result, the team will reach out to ensure that product designed to fit together is what, in fact, is being sent. We do set the price point at a point to maximize the number of pet owners who may use the product. Our team, as pet owners ourselves, are committed to having as much of our product available to a wide range of customers, worldwide. We have had a wheelchair specialist reach out to you as a wheelchair should never tip over. We are committed to helping you through this transition.

Quad chair for immune mediated polyarthritis in front legs
My dog adi was diagnosed with immune mediate polyarthritis. Basically his immune system was attacking and killing his front legs. The first one accessed and had to be amputated, the second one was swollen and all the tendons turned to crud so he should not put pressure on it. He was a hiking dog before the disease and by the time we got his wheelchair he hadn't even gone from the house to the yard in 8 months.
The chair was fairly easy to build. A lot of instructional videos and YouTube videos by the company helped. I had a hard time figuring out how I should adjust it to meet Adi's needs. I called the company and someone helped me right away get it to the perfect fit. Now Adi goes for walks in the park everyday and once his strength has built up he'll be able to go on long paved trails with us. He still needs a little help steering (i use the leash on his collar kind of like a rudder to assist him) and the wheelchair doesn't do great on grass or uneven serviced (maybe a dog with a little more strength in his back legs would have better luck). Adi went from being depressed and sedentary to being very happy again. I couldn't be more pleased with the walkin' pets quad chair or the customer service I received.
