Weight Management $49
You pay Walgreen's $49 to meet with a nurse practitioner for a RX for GLP-1's. The fine print is very specific. You will pay that $49 every time you need a refill. They are also very specific about pricing. This is SELF-PAY only and the pricing is set by Lilly direct. Which at this time of review is 2.5mg for $299, 5mg for $399, and 7.5 and up for $449. It says all over the website INSURNACE NOT ACCEPTED. I had my visit with the nurse got my script and it was filled by Walgreen's and was the $299. Easy peasy and I was pleased. When it came time to move up in doseage I paid the $49 again, got a RX for 5mg and it was sent to Walgreen's. Except this time they tried to run insurance they had on file for me. This of course was denied since my insurance doesn't cover the medication so the price was now $600. The "chat" help in the weight management section of the website is a joke, the people there don't know anything or care. They just kept sending a link to the website that states they don't set the pricing. I called the pharmacy direct and explained to the pharmacist what had happened it was supposed to be self pay. He could have cared less and told me there was nothing he can do. I spent 2 hours on some crazy phone call tree getting sent all over to all these different departments just to get the med at the SELF-PAY price. Eventually even talking to the store manager. All useless. I took the RX number I received for paying the $49 and had it filled at Amazon. It was the SELF-PAY price and all was well. Walgreen's is inept. They offer these services but don't know how to follow through. There is no system in place. There are hundreds if not thousands of online "pharmacies" that offer this service. I used Walgreen's because I trusted the brand and I get to use my local pharmacy. Too bad they can't handle something so simple. Save your $49 and go with anyone else.
