Do not use a dog walker/sitter from Wag…
I had been using a dog walker/sitter that I had met using wag for months, Ronni Rosenberg. Ronni left her number on my refrigerator so that I may set up more regular walks with her. I started texting her to ask her when she was available and then I would book my walks through wag. This all changed when I had tried to do that and Wag was telling me she wasnt available (despite Ronni having told me she was) and had booked me with another walker. I had to be on the phone with wag for over a half hour and sent several text messages to try to get the walk changed to the walker and then to finally cancel. When I was finally told the walk had been cancelled I told Ronni to go over and walk my dogs and I would venmo her payment because Wag kept saying you werent available at the designated time and wanted to give the walk to soneone else. Well I am soon receive an alert that says that my walk has started on the Wag app with the walker I told them to cancel. I had to call the police, and I told Ronni if she knew the other walker to tell him to return my dog because the police were on their way. The police show up and my dog had been returned, but my door was left open and needless to say unlocked. Wag had nothing to say in response to that besides the walkers are independent contractors. Needless to say that was the last time I ever used Wag to book. I continued using Ronni as she was/is still a highly recommended walker on Wag. Well my two dogs were boarding with her and apparently she had two other dogs board with her as well that Ronni had told me nothing about until my sweet 14 (almost 15 year old) beagle was attacked by one of the other dogs (which from what I understand from the vet it had to be a large dog by the bite mark pattern) and bit on her neck and ear. Ronni has refused to give myself or the vet any identifying information regarding the other dog to make sure that it is up to date on vaccines and to report to see if this dog has a history of biting other animals. I had what equaled out to over a $400 vet bill. Florida law states that the other party is responsible for all vet bills. Ronni has decided that since they were in her care she will take responsibility for it (I'm guessing the other dog owner had no clue her dogs were boarding with somebody else's as well); however this happened over 3 weeks ago and she has only paid $200 of it and I am about to enlist legal services. I spoke with wag to see if a dog named Lucy was in her recent profile and they said no, but since they know about the situation that they would remove her account with wag; however, wag has clearly not cared as Ronni Rosenberg is not onlyt still giving walks but is a features walker on their app. Now I will never use wag again and have recently switched my dogs over to using Rover. ..the rates are better anyways and I can actually select a walker/sitter as opposed it being randomly generated.
