Wag is great. One of the things I like best, is if a walker has to cancel, Wag searches for someone else for you. All the walkers have been great and our girls love them!

Love WAG! I can get a planned, scheduled walk, either singly or recurrent. I can also get a last minute - i need this dog walked now! walk. The walkers are courteous. Good with all my dogs. Are very patient with my elder dog and ready to ramp it up with the younger, VERY energetic dogs! They are flexible and dependable.

Wag is known to screw over Walkers! Ive been a walker with Wag for 7 months or so and ive walked well over 500 dogs and was given 5 stars. Everything was great and I even commended how good wag customer service. And then one day they stabbed me in the back with no regard for me, someone who walked many dogs in NYC and did a great service for wag the company, dog owners, and dogs. I chose to walk this one dog named Cooper, I looked at the notes and I saw many other walkers complain that the dog tries to escape from the leash by sneaking his head through it. With this in mind I held on tightly but the dog kept pulling and he slipped out of the leash! Luckily he came back to me 5 seconds later and I put the leash back on. I told the owner this and said I am going to return your dog because his leash is too loose for him and I dont want him to escape again. Somehow how the owner didn't know and said shes never had a problem like this before. I sent her the screenshot of atleast 4 other walkers complaining on the notes that dog tries to sneak out of the leash. Why didn't wag inform her of this?! I gave the dog back and she wanted part of her money back from Wag since I had to end the walk early. I told her no problem I will contact Wag to get you a partial refund. Next thing I know the suspend my account and a week later deactivate it! The customer service team all of a sudden was unresponsive, unhelpful, and uncaring! I tried to appeal but they still upheld that I would be forever deactivated. How was scenario my fault? I tried to help!

After reading these reviews, I feel compelled to share my experience as someone who walks for Wag! No, I am not being compensated in any way, nor was I asked to write this. I'm sharing my thoughts after a horrible experience boarding a dog in my apartment in NYC, all of which could have been avoided had the owner known their dog and not been so desperate to leave town that they lied about the dog's issues. Let me start by saying that they're so many people that use this app that love dogs. They don't just walk your pup, they engage them. They run, they play ball, they feed them. One walker I know actually called in a wellness check on an owner he knew was ill because the walker stopped responding to texts mid-conversation and the dog showed signs of anxiety. Yes, there are some bad apples, but for the most part you're getting really good, trust-worthy, compassionate people to walk your pets. First, to those complaining that they have to pay $25 for a background check, Wag does this to A) ensure you're serious about walking and not just looking to make quick cash, which means you're not invested, which means you're more likely to deliver bad service and B) Because they - as opposed to Rover - do a more extensive background check that includes multiple databases. So sorry things aren't free, millenials. As for the walkers all in a snit because they were deactivated, what they're not telling you is that Wag gives you 30 days from the date of warning to raise your rating. If a walker can't raise their rating a in a month, that means they're getting mixed star reviews. It's never as cut and dry and "I had a 4.65 and they deactivated me." If they're deactivated for their rating, 99% of the time, it's for the best. Now let's get to the owners who claim theft all upset because Wag won't blindly pay them out for their allegedly stolen items and dares to request receipts. Hi. That's Theft Insurance 101. Every company requires receipts. Sorry Wag won't pay you $1,000 for that knock-off Chanel bag you bought off the street for $50. If you had home or apt insurance like most responsible adults, that would have covered your losses. And unless you have video - again, something most responsible adults have when they let strangers into their homes (lookin' at you Mr. "My wife's priceless necklaces were stolen") - then you can't prove the walker stole from you. A large majority of the theft claims are rooted in racist and elitist BS. Yes, here and there a walker steals, but I would bet more often the cause is either good old fashioned fraud or forgetfulness. Now let's talk about the owners whose dogs have clear behavior issues but still decide to let a rando from an app walk their dog. Oh, your dog is a rampant street-eater? Fix the problem! Don't expect someone getting paid $12 to slam themselves to the ground every time your precious Fluffy decides to eat something off the street. Oh, your dog got loose from its collar? That's probably because the collar was too loose in the first place. I can't tell you how many dogs I've walked where the dog is fitted with a harness two sizes too big or a collar that I can fit my fist through while it's on the dog. Oh, your dog got away from the owner? Do you think it's because your dog is poorly trained and pulls on their leash or has sever anxiety issues you refuse to acknowledge? Maybe, like, make sure your dog is reasonably well-behaved and stable before you let him off with a stranger. Or, better yet, why don't you be honest when creating your profile and tell walkers that your dog has freakish super-human strength and pulls on the leash instead of talking about how "excitable" and "curious" they are. Okay, now let's talk about all the owners complaining about their walkers cancelling. Fun fact: All walkers write required report cards after each walk, which are viewable to other walkers. If your dog is difficult or presents a threat/liability, that information is in your dog's notes. It's a walker's right to cancel a walk in those cases. Oh, we also share which owners are rude, creepy, don't tip and don't rate/rate poorly no matter how above and beyond we go. So, if you're frequently being cancelled on or your dog sits in the queue for hours without being requested, the problem isn't wag. It's you. You're welcome. And big LOL to the liars that say people show up 2 and 3 hours late, Nope. It doesn't work like that. If a walker doesn't click the "On my way" button within 30 minutes of or after a scheduled walk, the walk is automatically canceled. If someone is showing up 2 hours after the scheduled time, they would have to alert the owner in advance to give the owner the chance to cancel. So, liar liar, pants on fire to you. What I will agree with is that Wag Customer Support has a great deal of room for improvement. Walkers need to see the dog note's before we accept a walk. As of now, we can't. See my point above. We know nothing about the dog until we request a walk and are accepted. The app is a nightmare. It's full of bugs and glitches. It freezes constantly. In closing, it makes me heartsick to see the amount of neglect that I do. I live in Manhattan on the UES. I've been in some pretty chic apartments. There are so many people with their Prince Charles Cavalier's and breeder dogs that they dress up in fancy sweaters, but that sit at home all day and night - sometimes in the pitch dark with their food and water bowls empty - waiting to be taken out because their owners are selfish and irresponsible. God damnit, people. Take care of your dogs. They're family.
