I am extremely disappointed with this vet practice. I took my 65lb AussieDoodle in for an infected ear 6 days ago. The exam and tests came to approx. $500! One of things I was charged an excessive amount for was an RX which i knew I could find cheaper on Chewys.com plus I had a 30% off coupon I could use. The checkout person said they did not allow me to scan and email a RX in to Chewy’s but that I could call them and she gave me a hard copy of the Rx. I came home and called Chewy’s and ordered the RX over the phone with them and they told me they would call my vet. That was 5/21 (6 days ago). Just today I got an email from Chewy’s saying they had JUST now rec’d my Rx from the vet! I was livid!!!! The vet told them they would only accept an email and it took my vet 6 DAYS to respond to them - all the time my animal had an infected ear and was in pain and very uncomfortable. I had to cancel the chewy Rx and drive back to vet just to pick up the medication and I am sure they did this out of spite as they were much more expensive than Chewy.s. They weren’t satisfied with the almost $500 I had already paid them for something that should have been much less - they had to prove a point to the detriment of my animal. They certainly put profits over the welfare of animals and I WILL NEVER USE ANOTHER VCA VET HOSPITAL AGAIN AND WILL WARN ALL OF MY FRIEND!!! SHAME ON THEM!!! I AM ALSO REPORTING THEM TO MU STATES BOARD!

VCA is the WORST. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.
I am filing a class action lawsuit against VCA. They killed my cat Winston and they are the most disgusting, incompetent, greedy, POS.
VCA is the WORST vet clinic and I will NEVER ever take another pet there again. I have recently discovered that VCA is owned by the Mars family and is nothing but a greedy disgusting corporation that absolutely puts profits and money ahead of pet care. Based on my experience, they do not care if your pet is sick. They only care about how much money they can get from you. Pets are treated like objects. DO NOT and I mean DO NOT take your pet to VCA if you want. your pet to live if your pet is sick.. After charging over $4,000 for 24 hour hospitalization of my cat and pressuring me to pay more money during his care, VCA accelerated the deterioration of my cat Winston who was able to move, jump around, and sit next to me prior to the gross incompetent care that led to pressure by them to euthanize him. The only thing I heard during Winston's hospitalization was demands for more money for more care and treatments and how poorly he was doing under their care. In fact, I was told that unless I paid more money, I needed to pick up my cat 5 hours before the 24 hours I paid for was up and that they would take the feeding tubes out.
My cat had hepatic lipitosis (liver disease) which 70-90% cats can fully recover from if properly treated. Unfortunately, due the incompetent care and poor judgment exercised by the once-a-month temp vet and day-time tattooed vet, Winston became a vegetable. He clearly was not properly treated because treatments should not make a pet deathly sick.
The staff I dealt with at VCA were uncompassionate and had little or no empathy. The tattooed day vet who euthanized my cat had absolutely no explanation or theory for how my cat went from being able to move and jump around in the examination room to being in a comatose state after they injected him with feeding tubes and whatever else they did to him that made him even sicker. The vet could not explain what would have caused my cat to have a stomach blockage so he could not eat or digest food. Nor did they refer me to another vet with critical care that could have performed surgery if needed. Instead, they told me there was nothing they could do as I was pressured to sign euthanization forms. The vets that cared for Wintson exercised very poor judgment in treating him because there is no way any pet should end up much more sicker when treated. Winston had a fever and numerous other problems that did not exist prior to bringing him there.
I asked to speak to the overnight vet Lesley Ash after my cat was euthanized. I learned that Ash comes in once a month and was told I would have to wait 1 MONTH to speak to her again even though she had my phone number as she had no problem leaving messages for how poorly Winston was doing under her care
Interestingly, neither the evening vet or tattooed day vet is even listed on VCA's staff on their web page so Winston wasn't even treated by someone on their staff. I contacted VCA to get the name of the day vet but they will not provide her name.
I WISH my cat had NEVER been taken there as he would likely be alive today. I WISH VCA had never existed and I pray for all the other innocent who they killed.
STAY AWAY from any vet clinic owned by the MARS family especially VCA. Winston deserved better. Your pet deserves better.

Please avoid
Please avoid. My 3.5 year old dog was diagnosed initially with a lipoma but situated under the hip muscle. VCA assessed my dog for 10 min and then stated they would need to do a CT scan (which I agree was needed) they instantly presented me with a quote for a range of $2,755 to $3,443. This is a scam. I found a much better orthopedic surgeon who spent 45 min with us and her CT quote was a 3rd of the price!

This place is amazing
This place is amazing! Their genuine care and concern for your animal is outstanding!
They went above and beyond to make sure that we had the proper care and gave us alternatives.
We had to have an amputation which was extremely costly, they were very willing to work with us and introduced us to Care credit which saved our dog!
Their genuine concern for his emotional state was surprisingly comforting. The entire staff shows true concern for both you and your animal, they made us feel safe knowing that a member of our family would be treated so well while in their care. Couldn't ask for a better vet! Their emergency services are above and beyond amazing!

I wish I could give zero stars
I wish I could give zero stars. My visit to VCA Sandy Lake in Coppell Texas was one of the most distressing experiences I have had at a veterinary office. The office manager, Aaron Chapman, was aggressive and hostile toward me from the start — behavior that was completely unprovoked and unacceptable. The veterinarian, Kevin Koser, handled my pet in a manner I found alarming, and then made a comment implying the dog does not like African Americans. I am a person of color, and regardless of my specific background, that statement is racist, offensive, and disqualifying for any medical professional. No pet owner — of any race or background — should ever be made to feel that way in a place designed to care for their animals. I have filed a formal report regarding the unethical practices at this location. I urge anyone in our community, especially people of color, to seek veterinary care elsewhere until these concerns are properly addressed

People great VCA robbery prices
People are caring knowledgeable
But the corporation upselling if unneeded tests add on a etc is insulting !! I pay for whatever my dogs need but I also know what they need based on regular care with vet. This was over the top I felt like I was in a car dealership!!!! Again. Techs and vet are super. The building is so old dirty yet VCA charges as if you were in a castle !!

First visit they missed a rabies…
First visit they missed a rabies vaccination and made me buy an unesasery expensive vaccination. Seven months later I called to price a heart worm blood test and was quoted $450. Of course this was a mistake but the young lady would not check into it. Now my dog is sick and vets are not taking new patients we were turned away for complaining about this missed quote by VCA. It's a sad day for pet lovers in need of veterinary care in the north country.

Be wary of VCA
Be wary of VCA. I seen that an ad on Facebook indicating that is a free and they say when we say free we mean free that's quoting the ad. So apparently I get there and they say well you don't have the coupon so you have to pay for the wellness. It's not the money. It's the principal. Very misleading and if they're going to be misleading with if they're advertisings, I wouldn't recommend going there and I see some of the other reviews and they're very similar. I don't know who's doing the marketing for this company. I should probably look for another job. Just warning you. There's too many vets out there that are more than willing to be honest up in front with you. This company seems to be trying to scam you. Just my opinion. I just spoke with somebody online yesterday and they told me not a problem. When I called today and I went for my appointment they want to charge me. It's not worth the aggravation
