So today, after 13 years of being a loyal customer to the only Vet my dog has ever seen, VCA Wakefield denied me in my singular moment of real need. I called them to see my dog, who was dying, and they simply said they were full today and didn’t have time to see us. Shameful. Think long and hard about using this place if that’s how they treat customers and patients. The one time we needed them, they turned their back on us. And don’t believe whatever they say in their response about not having the facilities to treat him if he needed overnight care, I begged them to see us and they wouldn’t even examine him to see what was wrong. Rest in peace my boy.

I had a great experience at VCA Animal Hospital. The doctor was wonderful and took the time to give me helpful tips on how to save money on my pet's care. The first visit was truly free, and I didn't have to pay anything, which was a huge help. She also prescribed medication that I can fill at Walmart for a very reasonable price, instead of pushing a more expensive option. While the wait time was a little longer than expected, it was absolutely worth it because of the quality of care and the genuine concern shown for both my pet and my budget. I would definitely recommend VCA to anyone looking for compassionate, affordable veterinary care.

No compassion for the animal. We spent at least 800 dollars a year for about 4 years on our dog and he still has a miserable rash. Now I'm disabled and I'm not making enough money to take him for treatment there anymore. He has gotten worse and we can no longer afford his medication. They just charge you a small fortune and the older gentlemen vet there just wants your money and will let your animal suffer without giving him the proper care. Pick a better vet.

I would give them negative rating dont trust them, they are bunch of money hungry people who prey on pet parents. They killed my dog they didnt even tell me he was dying and was having seizures due to them giving excess anesthesia. When I called they told me hes fine just to find it it was all a lie they have 0 administration skills 0 remorse , they will lie on your face and not take accountability. My dog died and I couldn't even say good bye I got there and he was dead and I found out hes dead by just checking in not even been informed by their team ! We will take legal action on youe negligence. You are supposed to call and inform us , dogs cannot speak but we have a voice , we will take this to the authorities especially complain against Caroline Duque ! Her negligence lead to the death of a valuable soul.

I would sue them if I could they killed my amazing dog, gave him over anesthesia and he didnt come out alive for a mere MRI. I wouldn't ever recommend anyone going there. The government needs to intervene here and shut them down.

My dog had a surgically removed anal sac cancer tumor removed elsewhere and we came to VCA for chemo. Sarah Sheafor was great when there was no tumor! A pleasure!! However, 9 mos after surgery, in February, we found that the tumor returned with a vengeance- it was golf ball sized and Sarah urged us to get chemo without surgery. She said that removing the tumor would be too difficult due to the location of the growth and that its removal would not extend my dog’s life. My dog is a little miniature poodle. Instead she was recommending Palladia chemo to shrink the tumor. She had two days of knowledge about my dog’s tumor and she failed to consult with a surgeon. When I asked her if she had consulted with a surgeon to remove it she said “No, did you want me to?” WTF? Palladia requires weeks to be fully effective and this golf ball tumor had grown from nothing in 8 weeks! Thankfully I know a soft tissue specialist at the Hope Center - consulted with her with the ultrasound results and she said “Sure I can remove this - I’ll take it out Thursday am!” It was Tuesday. My dog would not be here today if I had kept my dog under the care of Sarah Sheafor. Instead, we got the tumor completely removed two days after the surgeon consult (which I had to arrange). They recommended MedVet in Manasses and I could not be happier! Winnie has received ECT (a chemo that Sheafor was not proficient with) and Carboplatin. As of yesterday - May 26 - he continues to be tumor free!!!! He would be gone right now if I had left him with Sheafor. The surgeons at the Hope Center are fabulous in Vienna and they KNOW the good oncologists ——- take your dog to MedVet in Manasses! They are clinically trained on the most modern chemo treatments - (Sheafor is not) and have a fabulous bedside manner! You can get your ultrasounds done there too and they are cheaper! I was appalled at Sheafor’s clinical judgement after I had rolled out thousands in treatment. To walk around for two days knowing my dog had a huge tumor and not even “bother” checking with a surgeon? And then advising against surgery????? It’s time for Sarah Sheafor to retire! I shared her emails with other oncologists during this process and she was unfamiliar with ECT procedures! Do yourself a favor and go to MedVet Manasses! Recommend Dr. McMillan - and so did my surgeon!!!
