I caught Covid at Vasa. I have an autoimmune disorder so I haven’t been leaving my house during the pandemic. But after 7 months, I thought I’d try out the gym. Vasa has sent numerous emails saying how much they value their patrons’ health. However, aside from a few signs, some disinfecting wipes at stations, and every other machine closed, there were no REAL actions to protect people. Very few people wore masks - including the staff member who scanned my card. People were standing in clumps and hugging each other and giving high fives and clustering around areas where others were working out. Very few people wiped down their machines after use and I saw numerous people sweating and sneezing and coughing and wiping it off with their bare hands and then not disinfecting their machines. It was disgusting. Some people entered the gym with masks on but from the moment they began working out, they took them off. They moved from machine to machine and crossed the gym and went into the bathrooms and used yoga mats and never once put their masks back on. This was the majority of people. And the staff made zero efforts to remind anyone of safety protocols. There were no messages played through the speaker system. No tangible efforts made by staff or the gym to reinforce the signs they’d posted or to imprint on patrons’ minds that they were serious about everyone’s health. I had my mask on the whole time and carried a fistful of wipes and tried to dodge people, but a few days later I woke up with a fever of 102 and have been in bed since. I contacted corporate and they sent me a form letter expressing condolences, and that was it. They didn’t even offer to freeze my membership. Please please please do not go to vasa fitness during the pandemic!

I am sure like many people who are not comfortable about returning to the gym due to COVID, when Vasa Fitness decided to open their doors during a pandemic they assumed everyone was going to still come to the gym and want to force you to pay when you are not willing to risk your life in a DAMN GYM!!!! *#@! ...so pretty sad. I don't write reviews very often, but I can guarantee from just the reviews I've read they will be filing for bankruptcy soon and I don't feel bad for them at all!!! They unfroze my account again in July when gyms started opening up again in CO because of the virus--probably like a lot of states. Not that they even asked! So then I work 8-5, Monday through Friday remotely...in the mountains, so the closest gym is in Littleton, CO--45-50 minutes away. Yeah, try to get in a time in the evening--none available but didn't cancel right away thinking more time slots might open up after a while. Well, they didn't--I had called about what to do--no response! VASA just kept charging each month...then last month they charge me $75--supposedly an annual fee for something I can't even go to now! Then I go online since after talking to someone a month ago they were supposed to cancel my membership--no record of it--so confirmed with them today they received my cancelled membership. Yes...then they turn around and charge me a $25 cancelling fee...after just charging me another monthly fee yesterday--that was supposed to have already been cancelled! I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo upset and will do what ever I can to recover my money--obviously I am not the only one! Will never set foot in your gym again.

The gym itself is lovely but their Covid responses are the WORST. I just joined 4 weeks ago and they were forced to implement new restrictions - that part is understandable. Them charging me $99 to cancel after only 4 weeks and wanting to cancel because of Covid restrictions is my problem. I even asked nicely if they would split that fee with me since Covid isn't anybody's fault but NO - I'm the one who gets to suffer and line their corporate pockets. Way to go VASA. You'll never be seeing ME again.

VASA gym has a policy of charging a $49.99 fee to guarantee your rates will not rise for one year. They charge this fee every year!! The rate guarantee is just an underhanded way of charging more for their membership. This fee was not explained when we joined and they refused to credit our account for an unwanted and unwarranted charge! We cancelled our membership and suggest everyone go elsewhere.

VASA Unjustified Charges I have read previous VASA/Aldous & Associates business practice reviews. These issues have a long history. Recently I received two letters from Aldous & Associates (A&A), that said I was delinquent $439.86. This was unjustified and there was no stratified invoice attached. Just a number. I made a call to VASA on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. The manger I spoke with, Jack, said it was something that happened in 2018. I used VASA several times a week since they first opened and this made no sense. Subsequently I had 5 email conversations with VASA customer services (Kylie) I asked for a stratified invoice on each email. All responses were at best, avoidance. VASA alleges they called and emailed me (May/Jun). I did not receive. A&A sent me letters by USPS. VASA made a weak attempt and could have done the same before sending to A&A. Traffic with VASA concluded that I owe them $87.92 + 49.99 = $137.91 for the months May to ? 2020. Again, unjustified with no stratified invoice attached. Just numbers. Also, in disagreement with A&A ($302.95 difference). I was on autopay and VASA told me payment requests were rejected. I don't know why. My bank provides me occasional notifications of questionable transactions, but not rejected transactions. COVID-19 aggravated VASA closure from Mar to May Like many I always thought I was on a month-to-month, pay as you go agreement. My last auto pay was in Feb. I am in a COVID-19 high risk category. I can no longer walk unassisted. My doctor and neurosurgeon have both warned my not to return to my VASA swimming and exercise routine. My wife and I have not received services from VASA since Feb 2020. We enjoyed this facility from the day they opened. It's a great facility and staff. However, we will not be held accountable for services not received. VASA tells me A&A has the account. I responded to A&A, by letter telling them the charges were unjustified. NOTE: A&A asks for telephone responses. They do not publish an email customer service. A&A also hides behind a P.O. Box address. A&A and VASA have past and maybe current class action lawsuits. Both have numerous BBB complaints. A&A has threatened me with damage to my credit score. I seen this called Systemic Thuggery in other venues. COVID-19 is impacting many businesses and individuals. We all have competing forces to contend with and add confusion to our daily activities. My competing forces were major surgery and a death in the family. VASA is not immune to competing forces and confusion. I am not the solution and I will not be held accountable.
