Ordered a book for my daughter's class. They mailed it and then I shipped it back. She used it for one semester and it cost about $20-25. Would use again.

Thanks for being a customer!

SCAM - extra fees and charges don't give them your CC they'll charge you after returns even when the book is pristine. Contacting customer service about it was a disappointing experience - they blamed me for a return date on thanksgiving.

We’re sorry to hear that the rental period did not meet your expectations, and we understand how frustrating it can be when course timelines change or additional weeks are needed. We reviewed the order and confirmed that no additional fees were charged. On the day the order was placed Valore offered two rental terms for the book, a 90 day rental with a return date of November 27th, and a Semester length rental with a return date of December 15th. Both return dates were clearly displayed immediately below the rental price. The shorter rental was selected during the order process, which set the due date accordingly. We aim to present all rental terms and pricing clearly so customers can choose the option that best fits their needs. We regret that this experience felt unclear and appreciate the feedback, as it helps us continue improving how we present rental options.

You have to be 100% sure you are taking the class because to return the books back is a nightmare. You cannot just return it at your own time because Valore has “windows” for you to return and its an incredible inconvenience if you don’t have the time. I bought 2 used books in September for my classes and turns out we didn’t need them so I decided to return them. I had to wait until October to get the shipping label because they don’t generate them at any time. I am out of $60 and I had the books already for 3 months still in the box untouched and unused. If you don’t have the time or patience to return the books you don’t need, be prepared to wait. Mark it in your calendar! Don’t get burned like me. I hate that Chegg partnered with Valore.

My sellback was declined despite the fact the textbook was only used once. They claimed “Cover Damage, Moisture Damage, Page Damage” none of which is correct or true. When I received it back the return sheet simply stated “missing pages.” Upon further inspection the “missing pages” were reference pages that were meant to be removed, and were never in the book when I first bought it. The packing job on the return shipping is what I would describe as haphazard at best. Extremely disappointing experience. It seems they won’t take anything that’s not in virtually new condition. Beware of this company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your recent experience and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Our team evaluates every book carefully based on specific buyback condition standards to ensure fairness and consistency. We understand how frustrating it can be to have an item declined, especially when you believe it met the required criteria. The note about “missing pages” indicates that our inspection team identified portions of the book that were absent at the time of review. We also apologize if the return packaging did not meet your expectations, your feedback helps us improve this process.

The website states they will send you a check first class mail when you sell them your books! It’s been over two weeks and I haven’t gotten paid! This had been an awful experience! They continue to give me the run around! Do not use this website!

Hi Eduardo, We sincerely apologize for the delay and the frustration this situation has caused. Due to an unexpected technical issue, your payment was processed later than anticipated. However, we want to assure you that your check has now been issued and is currently in transit via first-class mail. We understand how important timely payments are and regret that this experience did not meet your expectations. We’re actively improving our systems to prevent delays like this from happening again. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Best regards,
Jacklin R.
The website tricks you and makes it incredibly hard to access your order and tricky to return. I spent an hour navigating their sneaky site before I found my return label they want to screw students and charge you. Be mindful and don't let them fool you. The return button is hidden under a banner once you get to your order number

Valore was great. I purchased multiple textbooks that I subsequently no longer needed, their customer service specialist (Erin) was very responsive and helpful in making sure I received my return.

Based on my experience with renting, returning, and waiting on a refund, I will not rent books from Valore in the future. Consumers beware of their discretionary return policy, including a 15% restocking fee and the requirement for customers to cover return shipping. Additionally, I had to initiate contact to inquire about a refund, despite the books being returned as instructed and received on 9/02—ample time for processing. The requirement to provide both the order and tracking numbers for any request added unnecessary inconvenience. Overall, the process felt disorganized, unprofessional, and shady.
