DO NOT BOOK AT SARAJEVO AIRPORT. They specialise in scamming people by not returning their deposit. You only need to read a few of the reviews about these ‘gentlemen’ that appear everywhere, work out that at most one in ten of those scammed actually write a review, multiply that by the number of cars they rent out to European citizens every day, and work out the result for yourself. They’re a gang that takes advantage of the lack of agreements with other countries to swindle people. They charged me for leaving their car in the airport car park; they tried to make me pay for a scratch it already had (thank goodness I had the video)… but it doesn’t matter because they make you sign a document IN BOSNIAN giving themselves SIX MONTHS to return your deposit, but the fact is they don’t answer your calls, emails or anything, AND THEY DON’T RETURN IT EITHER. I’ve had to turn to the Consumer Protection Agency in Bosnia, my country’s embassy and a lawyer in Sarajevo, and after they kept resisting—even when I showed them photos of supposed bank transfers—I’ve managed to get it back, BUT MY MORE THAN SEVEN MONTHS OF SLEEPLESS NIGHTS WEREN’T WORTH IT. I’ll keep fighting to expose these blokes who know exactly what they’re doing.
