The provider I met with did not make me feel safe or comfortable, and in fact, rather made me feel ashamed and judged. The meeting started late because the provider just showed up late, without an apology or an explanation. She also didn't really introduce herself so I never felt "welcomed". The questions she asked were standard but she would question my responses, as if she didn't believe me or something. But either way she just blanketed wrote me a script without really allowing me to talk about it or even if that was the right next step.
I do not want to move forward with Minded if that is how all of their providers are.

The Nurse practitioner was very nice & helpful. However, the reason I'm not giving 5 stars is b/c your service doesn't allow prescription of benzodiazapens. The meds I was prescribed was hydroxizine & lexipro. The former is weak & meant for allergies & the latter takes 4 to 6 weeks to build up. So really, she couldn't prescribe anything for real immediate relief. Not her fault. The DEA are not doctors & shouldn't put doctors in a position where they can't help their patients. That is disgraceful.

Worst experience I've had with a mental health professional
I decided to try Minded because I needed a refill on my medication. I've have a lot of experience with different mental health professionals and therapy, but I was still a little anxious about talking to someone new.
First, the provider that was assigned to me was late and did not apologize for being late. She seemed rushed and disorganized, like she was reading my information for the first time during the appointment. I explained to her that I was hoping to get a refill on my Xanax prescription, but she said she was not able to because it is a controlled substance and my last refill was not within the past 2 years. For context, I have a horrible fear of flying and I use Xanax for that - as a reminder, we've been in a global pandemic since 2020, so I didn't think it was that weird to be asking for a refill for the first time since 2019. She offered to end the appointment right then and there and, even though I was disappointed since this was the whole reason I even signed up, but I was open to continuing the conversation to see if there was an alternative medication that she could prescribe. She began to run me through a list of questions - they were pretty standard, but when we got to the question about alcohol consumption, she started to talk down to me. She said to me in a very condescending way, "A lot of people don't understand this question. It's how many days IN A MONTH do you have 5 or more drinks." I told her I understood the question, and when I told her my answer, I felt judged IMMEDIATELY. She even TRIED TO RE-EXPLAIN THE QUESTION. That's when I felt the appointment really took a turn. We continued to go through the questions, and at one point I mentioned that I was on Prozac previously for depression, and she immediately perked up and tried to convince me to let her write me a prescription. I told her I didn't want to take Prozac again because I had side effects. Then she suggested Lexapro, which I am also hesitant to take because of the same type of side effects. She seemed really frustrated that I immediately agree, which to me felt very bizarre.
Overall, I'm not really sure how providers on Minded are getting paid, but to me it DEFINITELY seems like there is some kind of incentive to get people on medication. Frankly, I regret continuing the appointment after being told that they were unable to refill my prescription, since all it really accomplished was being judged for how much wine I drink in a month and getting drugs pushed on me that I don't want to take. Needless to say, I cancelled Minded as soon as the appointment ended. Really a shame.

Started Great. Then Downhill
My initial consultation went well. I was prescribed 14 days of 5mg escitalopram and all was well. I am nearly at the end of my 14 days and I haven't heard anything back from them since my initial consultation. I have sent several messages about the next steps in my treatment and i have gotten nothing. These aren't matters to be taken lightly, and it seems like the site thinks I have a 30 days supply when I only have 14 days. I am supposed to abruptly stop taking the medicine for the next 2+ weeks until somebody actually responds to my messages. Worst customer service ever
