Ordered the 7 plant pet friendly bundle. One plant arrived broken and another mostly dead and missing a bunch of the leaves. I live in the Midwest and it's winter, so figured the one just got too cold. It was a smaller plant, so just figured I would try to revive the dying one. It's been about 20 days and it's still droopy and wilted. But, the rest were also dying. Couldn't figure out why, until I pulled them out of the grow pots to find them all root bound. Some clearly needed care long before they sent them to me. I repotted them all and going to cross my fingers they recover. Didn't bother with customer service because it looks like, judging by other reviews, that they don't respond or care. Hopefully some of them recover. Posting to help future customers.

Hi Jenn - Thanks for taking the time to share this. We were a bit delayed in customer service responses during our busy season but have since hired up and always do respond. We have a 30 day customer happiness guarantee so we would be happy to replace the plants for you. Please email [email protected] and ask for Chrissy, noting you reached out on Trustpilot. I would contact you directly, but your email doesn't show with reviews. Thank you!

Surprise, surprise!! Another company taking advantage of you.
I am so frustrated with this company. I bought a plant from SILL for my boss. I ordered a ZZ plant on 2/1. I received the plant of 2/9. The plant was dead. Very embarrassed for obvious reasons. I was told on 2/10 that I would receive the plant within 2 business days. Liars. I ended up going to Home Depot on 2/20 because the plant never came and wanted to present my boss with the new plant and I was tired of waiting. I asked for a refund via chat that day. Received an email 2 hours later saying my plant was on it's way. I asked for a refund again through the chat and email. No response. Received the plant today 2/24. Funny how once I asked for a refund I received a response y plant was on it's way, but completely ignoring my 3 other requests. I don't want this plant. I told them that. You have ignored me for days. Order #878953. I want to ship this plant back to you. You dropped the ball. I already bought a plant. Tell me where to ship this plant back to you and give me my refund please!!!!!!!!

Plants came extremely damaged, and customer service lied to me
I ordered a Large Majesty Palm from the Sill, thinking I would be getting a healthy, high-quality plant due to the high prices and all the guarantees on the website. Boy was I wrong…
My palm arrived extremely damaged, with all but one frond broken/snapped off. I had never seen a plant in such poor condition. I understand damage can happen in transit, but there’s really no excuse when it’s clear that the Sill made zero effort to package the plant safely. The box had no “this side up” or “fragile” stickers/labels whatsoever, and the “protective” packaging consisted simply of the plant stuffed in a box and wrapped in a single sheet of brown paper, with one support pole next to the plant (really??).
I am very experienced growing Majesty Palms. I have had three Majesty Palms that I’ve kept healthy and happy for the last three years, all bought from Home Depot for $20. I knew from experience that this palm would not survive. Majesty Palms are FINICKY plants - leagues more difficult to care for than even the famously finicky fiddle leaf fig. They cannot tolerate this kind of damage. To my surprise, when I chatted online with the Sill’s customer service and sent them several photos, they told me the plant would be just fine and to wait several months for the plant to “recover” - despite their guarantee that the plant would arrive in good condition. I had to spend about 45 minutes going back and forth arguing with customer service before they finally agreed to send me a new plant, promising that they would put extra care into packaging it so that it would arrive intact this time.
This left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt clear that they were trying to prey on inexperienced indoor plant owners who would believe their lies. Furthermore, even IF what they said was true (it wasn’t) - if I’m paying $85 for a plant, I don’t feel it’s unreasonable to want a plant that won’t need several months to recover and look nice in my home. If that’s what I were going for, I would have purchased an immature plant in a 4” grow pot for much less money, rather than an $85 mature plant in a 10” pot. Absolutely ridiculous.
My replacement Large Majesty Palm finally arrived after a long wait, and surprise surprise… the packaging was no different. The plant came out slightly less damaged (entirely due to luck, since the packaging was just as poor), but most fronds were still either completely broken or bent (still requiring pruning - a bent frond will not recover). At this point, I recalled how difficult and time-consuming my last experience with customer service was, and simply gave up. I kept both plants, just to put the Sill’s claims to the test.
Well, both plants died within a few months, despite caring for them in exactly the same manner as my three other healthy and thriving $20 2-year-old Majesty Palms from Home Depot. The first never recovered, never even opening a new frond before it eventually collapsed. The second opened a new frond, and even seemed to be healing, before I discovered it had a scale infestation.
For those who aren’t familiar, scale insects DO NOT travel between plants except when in contact with another plant or by being blown in the wind. Well, this plant was not touching any others, there is no wind in my apartment, and none of my other plants have scale (believe me - I went over every other plant with a fine-toothed comb after discovering the infestation because scale is devastating to plants). So not only did the Sill send me an extremely damaged plant, they sent me an infested plant that could have destroyed all of my other plants if it were touching any of them. So I threw it out. $85 down the drain.
If I had any confidence that the Sill would provide recourse for this issue, I would reach out to them. But after my first experience with their “customer service,” I have little desire to do so. Instead, I’m chalking this up to a learning experience, with the lesson being to never order from the Sill again. I will never, ever buy another one of their plants. Meanwhile, my $20 Home Depot majesty palms are still thriving away... Don’t bother with this website, unless you want to risk throwing money away at nothing and dealing with customer service trying to swindle you.

Good customer service
I have ordered many plants from The Sill. All have been healthy, good in size and packaged well. I recently ordered 2 more large plants. I live in the midwest. One plant arrived in great shape, but the second plant did not handle the trip well during the cold month of January. I reached out and received good customer service to be sent another plant.

Very Poor Customer Service!
I had two major issues with both my orders. I sent the email to staff as it stated to do along with pictures. No one has gotten back to me. It’s very disheartening when you want to see your plants alive and well and no one shared that with me. My orchid arrived in pieces all broken and my ZZ plant was all bent and wilted. No one answered the “live chat”, no one responded to the two emails I sent, and there is NO customer service number to call. Not the type of service you would expect from paying premium for services.
Response from The SillFeb 2, 2022
Hi Fida - We're sorry to hear this. W see you reached out two days ago, and our current response time - during busy season - is beyond that but someone will get back to your two emails today. We actually have very high customer service ratings and I know you'll be pleased with the service and our 30-Day Customer Happiness Guarantee once we're able to make it right for you. Thanks for the patience.
