I agree with the other bad reviews as well. I had The Hartford for my car insurance, i had a very minor pot hole damage to my car, i filed a claim and for 30 days they gave the runaround, barely returned phone calls. I have to spend money from my own pocket to get my car repaired. Wasted my time and gas driving to get estimates for my car and was useless. They never sent me my estimate from Service King who they referred me to. I would not recommend using this company. Depending on The Hartford to protect your valuable items is a mistake! Read all the other reviews online as well like consumer affairs and BBB. They have 1 star with BBB.

Despite the email link sent to me, I couldn’t log on and create an online account to review my quote from AARP Hartford. After speaking with an agent, I discovered that my auto insurance coverage did not include CONVERSION coverage, which I have with my current insurer. First agent who gave me my quote was wrong when she said it was the same coverage. I also received 17 copies of my quote in the mail. Lost confidence in this company. Cancelled my auto/ home bundle.

After seeing other reviews,I realized I'm not alone. I went with the Hartford through AARP for my auto and home policy because they beat all other quotes. We prepaid for the year. Recently, I had to have my car towed for a repair and the tow truck driver was careless and damaged my car. I filled a claim and was sent to a body shop for an estimate. After that, nothing. I finally got in touch with someone who had no idea what was going on and promised to have "the right person " call me back. So far nothing, and it's been over two weeks since I filed the claim. My thoughts are now going to that commercial where "mayhem" says " if you buy cut rate insurance, you could get stuck" I hope it's not so but so far I've been left to feel like I'm all alone. My advice?... from what I've seen so far, spend the few extra $ and go with an insurance Company that returns calls and has a number you can call 24/7 this is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I'll add another 1-star review. Filing the claim in the first place was very frustrating. As everyone else has said, they delay, demand more documentation, and there is always a problem. I will say that I finally got approved and have been receiving checks, but I didn't get one this month. When I checked into why, it seems that my case required an update. I was called and everything was updated. But it was apparently after the check cutoff date, so no check. I just got off the phone with my case worker and now I will get the check in 5 days, because of the weekend. It is already a week late. Not acceptable.

Hartford does not return Calls and difficult to speak with a Rep I try to get auto Ins Quote, been told have to be a Member of AARP, I became a AARP member, called back to request quote 2nd time, Followed instruction of download Docum. from there web, fill out and send back with Vehicle Info. Last Statement of Service records, proof of Miles and yes my AARP member # been waiting 10 Days have not heart back. I called 3rd Time been told no Documents received yet. I waited an other 5 days no Email no Call so I called 4th time Rep explained yes my documents been received, but still cant get a Quote do to the Form i uploaded was incorrect. LOL seriously I only had 1 Option of a Form to download. all Info to get a Quote was with Hartford. The People who answer the Phone do not know from each other do not look up any of Applications Info do not know their JOB. I'm' very upset wasting time effort and all without a professional handling. My insurance renews. this month the 28th a Businessman advised me not to take a RISK dealing with Hartford Jutta Losea

This company will fight you to not pay you employee benefits for disability. Regardless of any doctors documents you send over. If you have a company you work for that requires Hartford and need to take disability just be wary that it will be a nightmare and will if anything make your mental health decline. You may be better off just finding a new job with a company that doesn’t use this company for benefits.

My husband and I have had Hartford for many years. They were always prompt to pay and we had no complaints. However recently our premium increased almost 50% from the prior year. ( No claims) just an over all increase across the board. I will be switching and taking my homeowners policy as well. There are no customer discounts for being loyal customers for at least a decade . Absolutely the worse company I have ever dealt with. They do not want to pay employee benefits for sure. I fought them and was approved after 6 months. Then they constantly ask for documents. I have sent letters and emails and no one responds. Alison S. literally does not answer emails or letters I have sent her explaining my records. As soon as my Social Security disability was approved they closed my case. I expected a percentage after disability pays for 15 years but no they just dropped my case and that was it. I would never recommend them. I’m fixing to have more surgeries and now I have loss of income and stress of getting an attorney.
