I would give no stars if I could. I was approved for SSDI due to my medical condition as they confirmed with my medical condition I couldn't work a full time position due to my symptoms. The Hartford tries to get out of paying their part. They harass my doctor all the time. Just recently had an appt with my doctor and he showed me the questionare they sent. They try to word it to trip him up to say I can work. What a deceitful company!!!!!

This should be zero stars, but I'll give the 1 star to the politeness of most of the representatives. My employer goes through the Hartford for leave of absence, and they are absolute garbage to work with. When filing a claim, you should fully expect that there WILL be an issue with your paperwork. Once you call and speak to someone and eventually fix the issue using the exact instructions they gave you, there WILL be another issue with that issue that wasn't mentioned previously. Once you re-do all the paperwork again, there WILL then be another issue with that paperwork. As you're trying to clarify what the exact issues are and how to fix them, they WILL deny and close your claim in the meantime and the cycle will begin again. Also, when you request to speak with a supervisor to clarify the problems throughout this process, the supervisor will NEVER call you back, and will always be "unavailable," "in a meeting" or "out of office." When you call the Hartford, you WILL get a hold of polite representatives who seemingly go through hoops to try to help you, but you will somehow NEVER get a hold of or hear back from your own analyst or their supervisor. The Hartford definitely has their scam game down, and they are experts in making you give up.

Be aware before changing your insurance…..thinking you are getting a savings. I am a retired female, drive approximately 10 miles per day maybe. For the initial insurance they gave me a great deal. I was saving about $300 but, when it was time to renew (6 months). they went up a little over $300. (No, I have not had any accidents or tickets or anything in the last 15 years) But I’d stayed with them I didn’t feel like looking around again when it was time for my yearly renewal they increase my insurance another $380 so my insurance increased in one year aprx. $700. Then they give you all the excuses you can imagine. They are now higher than my original insurance and actually higher than the average insurance in my area. The kicker for me is this is supposed to be a discount from AARP for retired individuals or individuals over 65 You gotta be kidding me, don’t believe the hype. I will be leaving them immediately and return to my original insurance.

We paid for cyberattack coverage. When the cyberattack hit they paid us nothing, despite us losing tens of thousands of dollars. This insurance company will take your money and not protect you. Their insurance is more worthless than the paper the contract is written on. I will say this on every forum I can. The downfall of America is that companies don't care anymore. They just want your dollars. Worthless, sham, parasitic entity preying on honest people.

I have had a terrible experience. I went on paid family leave. No body told me that I will not get paid in full even though I spoke to The Hartford several times. I lost one month of pay and all I got was an apology and there is nothing that I can do.

Denied our claim for obvious hail damage on the roof of our home. We disputed the decision and requested a 2nd appraisal. No one from Hartford would respond to phone calls or emails from us, from the roofer, or from the insurance agency. A local business nearby, had been insured by Hartford for over 30 years. During a recent storm the ceiling collapsed in the office, resulting in serious damage. Hartford did not even take 36 hours to deny that claim, as well. These people are thieves. We pay several thousand dollars a year for insurance coverage, but get NOTHING when help is needed.

If I could give this company a -O I would!!! I received my auto insurance renewal five days before it was due. I pay for six months at a time. This renewal time my insurance doubled to over $900.00 and that's with their "DISCOUNTS". Five days notice for this insurance amount!!!! I realize most businesses have raised their prices but 100%.That's customer service????
