Useless To EV Drivers This company essentially refuses to insure the safest vehicles on earth, and when they did offer liability only coverage, it was completely out of line with the industry. I didn't EVen get my "free gift" for wasting my time to get a quote.

So Bad.... Criminal lack of communication, horrible process of policy rate and even after canceling policy still having to deal with their "yearly audits" which continue to ask for more money. They do nothing and charge an enormous amount of money for nothing. Stay away.

I had insurance with the Hartford for a number of years, but they have gone downhill. They keep raising rates, and customer service is not as helpful as they used to be. Also, their online driving app has gotten a lot worse, seeing incidents where there are none. I'm guessing they don't want to give discounts. I won't be back.

The Hartford did their bait and switch with us for home insurance. We were quoted one thing, and then they wanted to come and physically look at the house. Our home value was raised as was our premium. That's not even the problem. The issue was that they accidentally put an additional zero on the end of our home value making it $7.7 million dollars, and taking an additional $20,000 out of our escrow in addition to the $3,000 they already took previously. There was no way to contact customer service over the weekend this happened so we were in a panic for days. Then when we did contact them the Monday after they just fixed the issue. We asked for a supervisor to call us back regarding the egregious error, and have still not gotten a call weeks later. Horrible customer service. Horrible error. No apology. I reported them to my state Department of Insurance. DO NOT USE them unless you want to potentially have these issues and no one to call or rectify when they happen.

This company, after years of coverage, stopped providing coverage on my workers' compensation policy. They hassled me with the final audit which, inexplicably, caused a 20% increase to my last year's policy. My company is in a low-risk segment and the industry does not have high claim rates. I have never filed a claim with The Hartford. The rate increase, threats of collections, and cancellation of my policy all led to a really bad taste in my mouth.

Try to get quote from these crooks. I am paying $3600 per year for full coverage for our both vehicles 100/100/300 with 500 deductible include towing. These crook get lot of info. out of you and their Price is $7800 yearly. I think these crook do not like to insure people live in California so the double the price. Good for small villager. If I could give zero, they would certainly win that rating. Had them for over a year. Decided to go with the local state farm office, within walking distance. Called these people sometime on late April or so after I had the binder dated Apr 15 2025. Of course they now say they have no record I called, still fighting with them in Nov 2025 because they say they canceled me in Jul 2025. I cleaned up all my automatic billing on 6/1 the date I was done with them. Fast forward to August-October... They continued to send me bills for a policy I cancelled plus late fees. Now every month they threatening mail about collections. Every time I call it is the same story no we cancelled you on 7/25/2025...I day mot I have a binder on Apr 15 with State farm why would i need you. I sent them info they wanted, apparently it was not enough, they need declaration page vs the binder page. I can close on a house with a binder but i cant close out a auto policy. Plus I dont even have state farm any more. Not sure why this company exists with the reviews they have "earned". I told them continue to harass me and I will sue for 8 figures. Mention I filed complaints with bbb and ct insurance board. Maybe we go after this useless company in class action. Avoid the Hartford at all costs. The aggravation is just mot worth any savings you might get.

BEWARE !!! SCAM COMPANY !!! BEWARE!!! This insurance company makes fradulent statements , gives fake checks that are unverifiable and do not pay for any medical expenses. I have been out of work for 3 months and only received ONE payment even though I have been on the phone with them multiple times where they blatantly lie about sending my payments which im pretty sure is illegal. I know they are lying because they say they have sent the checks but the system never updates to show they have sent the payments and I never receive them. The phone conversations are recorded so I know their is proof of claim handlers such as Tiffany Mercado who has claimed not once or twice but 3 times being sent and yet I haven't received anything except letters of them disputing medical payments. The one time I did get a check it was almost impossible to cash because the check cashing stores can’t verify the check.I tryied to put my bank for direct deposit which they have denied all 3 of my bank accounts. By the looks of other reviews I am not the only one dealing with issues with this company. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. Businesses DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
