Happy Howl

About Happy Howl

Where it started:Rocky changedeverything andI never set out to start a dog food company. My husky Rocky had the worst stomach on the planet. Years of vet visits, prescription diets, and hundreds spent on premium food brands. We tried everything. Nothing worked. So I decided to build it myself. 36 recipe iterations. Countless hours with vets and nutritionists. All chasing one question: what’s the best food we could possibly make for a dog? When we finally got it right, Rocky was the proof. He hasn't been sick in over 18 months. He runs three miles with me every morning. That's the standard every Happy Howl bowl is held to. Nothing less.Colin Buckley– Founder

Non-Refundable Trial Food? Seriously?

Absolutely unbelievable customer experience. Happy Howl’s business model seems to rely on hiding behind a subscription loophole so they can refuse refunds. You buy dog food to TEST whether your dogs will even eat it, and only afterward do they tell you the order is considered “subscription discounted” and therefore magically non-refundable. What makes this even more absurd is that nowhere during the buying experience was it made sufficiently clear that trying the product would waive basic refund rights. The entire setup feels engineered to trap first-time customers into purchases they can’t return. Instead of standing behind their product, they hide behind policy technicalities and canned support responses. If your food is so great, why make it this difficult for unhappy customers to get their money back? Honestly one of the most laughable customer retention tactics I’ve seen in a while. I’d strongly recommend reading every line of fine print before ordering from this company.

Response from Happy HowlMay 29, 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and we sincerely apologize that our policies left you feeling trapped and unheard, that is truly never our intention and we take this feedback very seriously! We want to be very clear about one thing, we absolutely stand behind our product and the quality of every ingredient that goes into Happy Howl! Also, we want to be completely transparent and take a moment to clarify our process. Our trial pack is offered through a Subscribe & Save option that is selected at checkout and our terms and refund policy are clearly displayed at both the top and bottom of the checkout page prior to completing your purchase. Every customer must agree to these terms before their order is placed. We also want to make sure customers know that following your purchase you receive multiple subscription reminder emails including an upcoming order notification 7 days before your order ships and again 2 days prior, giving you plenty of opportunity to make any changes or cancellations before anything is processed!
