Where it started:Rocky changedeverything andI never set out to start a dog food company. My husky Rocky had the worst stomach on the planet. Years of vet visits, prescription diets, and hundreds spent on premium food brands. We tried everything. Nothing worked. So I decided to build it myself. 36 recipe iterations. Countless hours with vets and nutritionists. All chasing one question: what’s the best food we could possibly make for a dog? When we finally got it right, Rocky was the proof. He hasn't been sick in over 18 months. He runs three miles with me every morning. That's the standard every Happy Howl bowl is held to. Hi i was using happy howl off and on at their discounted price. The product was fine except one box was open and rotting. It is too expensive though it is ridiculous. I thought I had cancelled my subscription but I woke up to an email saying there was an order ready to ship and I looked and they had charged my card $750. I was very upset to say the least. I called them right away and they said they could cancel the order if tbe upcoming order email hadn't been opened which it hadn't. Then they eventually texted me to say they could not cancel my order. Please steer clear of this rip off company. $750 for dog food in their economy is unacceptable.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience. ❤️ I understand that you had purchased multiple bulk packs with an introductory coupon when you first set up your subscription. Even if continuing with those larger orders wasn’t what you had in mind long-term, we always want our subscriptions to work for our customers. We’re happy to help adjust pack sizes, change delivery frequency, or make other updates as needs change before the next subscription date. The reason we send advance email notifications is that we truly don’t want anyone receiving an order they no longer need. These reminders give customers time to make changes through their online account or reach out to us for help, and we also offer text notifications as an additional option. I also saw that one of your cartons arrived damaged during transit on a previous order, and I’m glad we were able to replace it for you. We’re always happy to help when shipping damage occurs. We truly appreciate that you gave Happy Howl a try. We never want anyone to feel caught off guard, and we take feedback like yours seriously as we continue working to make the experience better for our customers and their pups. ❤️

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! Our packaging is intentionally built sturdy so the food stays shelf-stable for two years, but we know that can make them hard to open by hand. Before you cancel, we recommend trying a quick snip with a pair of kitchen shears across the top, which makes opening them much easier! Your account is currently set for a 96-pack variety box to process next on November 8th. Please let us know if you would like to give the kitchen shears a try, or if you prefer for us to cancel your subscription immediately. We are happy to do whichever you prefer!

Thank you for checking in. We checked your account and see that a return shipping label was generated on September 10th. As soon as the carrier scans the package and it arrives back at our facility, our team will process your refund immediately. If you need a fresh copy of that label or help dropping it off, please let us know—we're happy to help!

My picky eater dog would not even try one bite.
Response from Happy HowlSep 22, 2026
Hi Douglas, Good news: picky eating is super common, and most pups just need a little convincing. Here are a few tricks that usually get even the pickiest pups on board. Feeding Tips to Try: -Start small & mix in: Try mixing a small amount of the food with something your pup already enjoys (like their previous food) and gradually increase the amount over a few days -Warm it up: Slightly warming the food can enhance the aroma and make it more enticing in a microwave safe bowl for 10 seconds (NOT in the packaging or paper plate/paper towel) microwave safe bowl or plate only. -Add a topper: A splash of warm water, low-sodium bone broth, or even a little plain boiled chicken can help spark interest -Stick to a schedule: Offer the food for about 15–20 minutes, then pick it up if your pup doesn't eat. This can help reinforce mealtime routines Hand feeding (short-term): Sometimes offering a few bites by hand can help reintroduce the food in a positive way Sticking to this schedule matters more than it might seem — a slow transition gives your pup's stomach time to adjust, which helps avoid any upset tummy along the way and sets them up for better digestion, more energy, and all the tail wags that come with it. Schedule: Days 1-3: 25% Happy Howl, 75% Current Food Days 4-6: 50% Happy Howl, 50% Current Food Days 7-10: 75% Happy Howl, 25% Current Food Day 11+: 100% Happy Howl Giving your dog time to transition to Happy Howl means you’re giving their body the chance to adjust gently, leading to better digestion, improved energy, and long-term health benefits. Please email us at [email protected] and we would be happy to help anytime! Warm Wags, The Happy Howl Team

I have been getting Happy Howl for a several months. One of my dogs liked it the other was iffy on it. The problem came in on the last delivery one of the boxes we open and it was infested with ants. I reached out to the company, and because I didn’t have photo documentation of it they wouldn’t credit my account I had to throw it all out. And I didn’t take pictures because I wanted it out of my house and was more worried about that than taking photos. First, they weren’t willing to do anything. I canceled my subscription that somebody reached out said I’ll send you a free shipment of food which I didn’t want because I don’t want the chance of that happening again. I really just wanted to credit for the food I couldn’t use. Which they didn’t do. So my subscription is canceled and I’m looking for other options.

Hi Mary! We’re sorry for the frustration here. ❤️ We requested photos only because UPS requires documentation when we submit a claim for a shipment that arrives damaged or affected in transit. As we discussed, one possibility is that the package may have been placed in an area where it was exposed to ants after delivery. Regardless, we were more than happy to replace the shipment for you and wanted to make sure we had the documentation needed for the carrier. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re always happy to help however we can. 🐾 Warm Wags, The Happy Howl Team

Hi there, we’re sorry to hear your pup wasn’t feeling well. There can be a number of reasons a dog may vomit after a meal, including eating too quickly or simply having an upset stomach, so we’d love to learn a little more about what happened and always want to make sure your pup is taken care of. 💚We’ll be reaching out by email so we can connect with you directly and get some more details.
