Happy HowlWhere it started:Rocky changedeverything andI never set out to start a dog food company. My husky Rocky had the worst stomach on the planet. Years of vet visits, prescription diets, and hundreds spent on premium food brands. We tried everything. Nothing worked. So I decided to build it myself. 36 recipe iterations. Countless hours with vets and nutritionists. All chasing one question: what’s the best food we could possibly make for a dog? When we finally got it right, Rocky was the proof. He hasn't been sick in over 18 months. He runs three miles with me every morning. That's the standard every Happy Howl bowl is held to. Nothing less.Colin Buckley– Founder

This completely brightens our day! Keeping a great product great and making sure it gets to your doorstep seamlessly is always our top priority. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful shoutout and for trusting our kitchen to feed your dog!

The product is great. My dog loves it. The support though was awful. I called them and asked them to not send the next box because I would be out of state for three months. They didn’t answer for two days then they answered and said we’re going to send it. It’s too late. It now is sitting on my porch for three months in 115° weather. I won’t be feeding that to my dog.

We are so glad to hear that your pup is a big fan of our food, but we deeply apologize for the frustrating communication and stress surrounding this shipment while you are away. To ensure orders arrive as quickly as possible, our system immediately processes shipments, which means we cannot stop or cancel a box once it has been sent to fulfillment. We know seeing a package sit out in 115°F weather is alarming, but you can rest assured that our shelf-stable recipes are designed to handle extreme conditions and stay perfectly safe and fresh in temperatures up to 119°F. Your pup's safety is our absolute highest priority, so if you have any concerns about the condition of the boxes when you get back, please send photos and details to [email protected] so we can assist you directly. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. While our recipes are uniquely packaged to stay safe and shelf-stable in high temperatures up to 119°F, we completely understand your concern after your delivery spent time out in that 100-degree weather. We want to make this completely right for you, and our care team previously reached out on July 3rd to request a few snapshots so we could check on the batch. If you have a moment, could you please locate that specific email thread and reply to it with your photos? We'll be standing by to get this resolved!

We love hearing that! Thank you so much for giving us a try. We're thrilled that it's all good so far, and we look forward to keeping those bowls full and tails wagging for a long time to come!

Bella is very very picky the first day she ate it up the second day was it so great I tried the beef on her. She doesn’t care too much for the beef so I kind of mix it in with the lamb or the turkey and she will. She will eat eat it it just takes her a while so I won’t be getting the beef anymore. It’s been a couple weeks now and she’s kind of slowing down on eating it. I have had to throw some of it away because it’s sitting out too long because she’s not eating like she did the first week but she still eats it. I just gotta make sure she’s really hungry before I set it out.

We totally hear you—picky pups certainly like to keep us on our toes, especially after that first-week honeymoon phase wears off! Since she's clearly turned her nose up at the beef, you shouldn't have to worry about mixing it in anymore. I just updated your account profile, so all of your upcoming shipments are now set to a custom mix of just Lamb and Turkey. To help prevent having to throw any food away while she navigates her slower eating pace, keeping her portions tiny until she builds up a hearty appetite is a great workaround. We're so grateful to have you and Bella in our pack!

We love Happy Howl with one exception! I wish the Turkey recipe did not contain canola oil and wheat flour! We are a gluten free family so am not comfortable feeding our pups Gluten! Dogs love it but I wish it were a notch up with clean! Thank you for asking!
Response from Happy HowlJul 10, 2026
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! We appreciate your focus on clean ingredients. We use a premium, nutrient-rich cold-pressed canola oil to keep healthy fats high and our prices fair for our pack. The wheat flour is only present in a very small amount as a natural binder, allowing us to completely avoid synthetic thickeners or carrageenan. We completely understand your family's gluten-free preference, though, and we'll definitely keep this valuable feedback in mind for future recipe development!

What a fantastic update! It is so wonderful to hear that the bowls are being licked clean and that you're seeing such great results with their fitness and weight. Clean, nutrient-dense food is a total game-changer for keeping them full and energized while leaning out. Thank you so much for the wonderful shoutout and for being such an awesome dog parent!
