Happy HowlWhere it started:Rocky changedeverything andI never set out to start a dog food company. My husky Rocky had the worst stomach on the planet. Years of vet visits, prescription diets, and hundreds spent on premium food brands. We tried everything. Nothing worked. So I decided to build it myself. 36 recipe iterations. Countless hours with vets and nutritionists. All chasing one question: what’s the best food we could possibly make for a dog? When we finally got it right, Rocky was the proof. He hasn't been sick in over 18 months. He runs three miles with me every morning. That's the standard every Happy Howl bowl is held to. Nothing less.Colin Buckley– Founder

"Thank you so much for this beautiful review. Hearing that you love everything about Happy Howl—and that your pup agrees—is the absolute best compliment our team could ever receive! We pour our hearts into making the best possible food and experience for our pack, and your support means the world to us. Thank you for being a part of our family!

She ate first time I gave her some. Very picky to point I’m struggling to feed her. Second time won’t eat.

Oh, the classic picky pup struggle—it can be so stressful when they change their minds after day one! Sometimes a slow transition or warming a serving up for a few seconds to release the tempting scents can help get them back on track. We also hear you on the packaging! Because we don't use preservatives, our cartons have to be extra heavy-duty to protect the food on the shelf, which can make getting every last bit out a bit of a challenge. Thank you so much for your patience, and we're so glad your daycare pack is happy to help clean up the boxes!

my picky dog loves it, and I cook for him...pretty much the same thing...meat and veggies.. but your food must have something else mine doesn't..and i like that it comes in small boxes. and his poop is formed and solid when he eats this.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. As someone who already cooks fresh meat and veggies for your pup, you know exactly what real quality looks like, which makes your review the ultimate compliment! While we use those same whole, human-grade ingredients, our recipes are crafted alongside canine nutritionists to include a precise balance of essential vitamins and minerals that can be tough to replicate at home. We are absolutely thrilled that it has brought such amazing results for his digestion and stool health, and we are so glad you love the convenience of our compact boxes. Welcome to the pack!

The food looks like it contains lots of healthy ingredients. Right now my dog Megan doesn't seem to care for it. She'll eat it if she's hungry, but normally she just takes a nibble every once in a while. Not sure it is worth continuing with this, especially since it's a bit pricey. More so than the Farmer’s Dog. It also takes a while for delivery.

Thank you for the honest review. We’re glad you appreciate the health and quality of our ingredients, but we completely hear you on the price and delivery times. Because we prioritize sourcing premium, whole-food ingredients and cook them in small, highly regulated batches, our costs and shipping logistics are slightly different than larger-scale brands. We know how frustrating it is to pay a premium when your pup isn't enthusiastically cleaning her bowl! If Megan decides our recipes aren't her absolute favorite, we completely understand and respect your choice to find a routine that better fits her palate and your schedule. Thank you again for letting us try to feed your girl!

The food came quickly and my dog loves all 3 recipes. It's so convenient to pull a box out of the cabinet instead of defrosting a packet to serve.
Response from Happy HowlJul 14, 2026
We love hearing this! Getting a total stamp of approval on all three of our formulas is the best feedback we could ever ask for. Skipping the defrosting step while still giving your dog the absolute best, nutritionist-formulated nutrition is exactly what we strive for. Thank you for trusting us with your pup's health and for taking the time to share your support. Welcome to the Happy Howl family!

I have tried different dog foods, lower priced dog foods ect.. I have come to realize that Happy Howl is the only one that my dogs will eat, especially when I add freeze dried beef patties in it as Bobby Humphreys suggested.

Thank you so much for this incredible review. We are absolutely thrilled to hear that out of all the options you've tried, Happy Howl is the only one that truly wins over your dogs! We are also huge fans of Bobby Humphreys and the amazing work he does, so hearing that his trick of adding freeze-dried beef patties has made mealtime even more of a hit at your house brings the biggest smiles to our faces. Thank you for investing in your pups' health and for being a wonderful part of our pack!
