Do not buy a sofa from Tesco if you live above the first floor. Despite Tesco at no point asking about the location of the delivery address, the company they outsource to refused point blank to deliver this sofa bed beyond the first floor landing, which seeing as we live in a 5th floor flat was not in any way acceptable. They refused to dismantle the sofa or unwrap it to give it a change to fit into our lift, and the delivery men were unprofessional and rude. They could not honour our original requested delivery date, and failed to show up for the first delivery attempt despite us waiting in for the delivery. Communication of this was non-existent. By this time as we had given away our old sofa in time with the first delivery date promised for the new one, had been sitting on the floor for two months. After nearly a month of contacting Tesco, being kept on hold regarding this delivery and countless non-existent promised call backs we had no choice but to cancel the order and buy our sofa from an alternate supplier. The delivery of our sofa DFS was excellent, its a shame that Tesco Direct cannot offer the same. The actual product I cannot rate as it never made it to our address.

I had two issues, both dealt with very quickly over the phone. Even though I was annoyed I had to wait for another delivery for errors made, tesco direct swiftly corrected each one. No complaint on the level customer service.

1. Tesco told me the sat nav I ordered 5 days ago would not be delivered on the day it was scheduled to be delivered. Hence why I had to cancel, as I was leaving the country. 2. I called immediately and their operator told me the order would be cancelled and my card refunded in full. There was no mention of any liability or charges then. 3. After several emails, to which Tesco only replied to one, they refunded my card eventually after over one week. 4. They continued to remind me to collect when the order had been cancelled. Then I received an email stating I was liable for charges but they would waive them. It is me who should be charging Tesco for my wasted time, not the other way round. Their systems and service in this case are very poor and unfriendly. ****UPDATE**** I received a further email asking for a review of the product and service. I gave my honest opinion, without anything that would be considered expletive or otherwise. 3 days later I received another email stating that they would not publish the review and it has been "moderated". So I have reduced their rating now to 1 star as they can't even publish a decent and honest review that contained the truth about the service I received. I have receive no apologies or contact from them either.

Ordered an item, got delivered to the wrong store. Wrong store unable to send it onto correct store. Item out of stock, unable to be re-ordered. ORDER CANCELLED AND REFUND GIVEN...... You couldnt make it up really could you. Last time I dealt with Tesco Direct they billed me twice for a camera they didnt have in stock. Refund was 2 weeks later. A nice littler earner for TescoDirect!

I ordered a 50" TV. I got an email saying it would be delivered Wednesday, not with Yodel as usual, but with ArrowXL. Delivery time was stated as between 9am and 1pm. 2pm no TV, ArrowXL apparently broke down 8 miles from me, but instead of leaving the Tesco parcels at the store they broke down near, (very near), they left them on the van that went back to not the local depot 30 miles away, but the Wigan depot 150 miles away. But did they tell me this? No. Over the next 4 days I tried desperately to find out WHERE the TV was and when/if it would delivered again. See my review of ArrowXL to see how bad they are. In the middle of this I resorted to calling TescoDirect for some help as dealing with ArrowXL was..well I can't describe what it was like. I got to speak to a Tesco Customer service manager/supervisor, not sure if I should give her full name so I'll say 'Lorraine L'. She chased up ArrowXL several times, every time she said she would get back to me she did. She called me for an update at the beginning of her shift on 3 successive days. The TV was on a great offer when I bought it but she did her best to find me another one in stock somewhere. I didn't ask her to do this, she offered. On the Saturday that ArrowXL promised to deliver it (for about the 5th time!) Lorraine called me to say that she was giving them until 2pm and if it wasnt there she would be arranging a TV for me at my local store and not to worry about the price difference as they would cover it. Well the TV turned up, and I'm very happy with it, later that week Lorraine called and gave us a great discount on it by way of a goodwill gesture. This made the TV a fantastic bargain but in a way I don't feel it was down to Tesco to do this. Although ArrowXL are quite literally the worst delivery firm I've ever used, Tesco went above and beyond to help us. Hopefully Tesco will drop ArrowXL some time soon so I can use TescoDirect for my next TV purchase. So 10/10 for TescoDirect and 0/10 for ArrowXL - see their reviews on this site. We've used Tesco home delivery for groceries for the last few years and its been a brilliant service, and any time there has been a small problem the customer service has been friendly, helpful and effective. I don't understand why they don't have a higher rating here. They couldn't have been much better for me. It seems like the majority of the bad ratings are due to delivery not surprisingly. I'm sure when they end up having to ditch ArrowXL their ratings will improve considerably. ordered online, got confirmation of delivery the day before the said date to confirm delivery from both tesco and the courier, 8.50am on the day of delivery the courier phones to tell me they have received no stock from tesco and my delivery won't happen today! no apology no explanation, turns out the courier has lied, they received all but one item of my order but their policy is not to break up an order, I arrange cover at work, costing me money in lost wages, i cancel other arrangements to wait in all day for this delivery based on the information both companies gave me the day before and they treat me like this. do not shop with tesco and think twice about using arroxl as a courier as they don't tell the truth.

Placed an order for a mobile phone from Tesco Direct on Thursday for a pickup on the next day. It did not arrive (despite being labelled as dispatched), and went back to the store on Saturday again. I was informed that the product would have to be re-ordered, as it got 'lost on delivery'. The store clerk at the time even told me that this happens quite often (shocking)! I decided to persist and agreed to a re-order, and was told the product would be with me on Monday. And nope you guessed it, the product was still no where to be found (and it turned out the clerk on Saturday failed to ever confirm the re-order). They offered a re-order for Wednesday, to which I responded: REFUND. Don't think I will ever use this service again, despite offering slightly cheaper prices.

Ordered a Samsung Galaxy S4 from Tesco Direct, paid £5.95 for express delivery on 28th May 2014 on top of the almost £400 for the handset. 28th May 2014 has arrived, checked order, still not been processed so i phone them to find out what is going on, 42 minutes on hold! So i gave up, went on live chat to be told the order hasnt been looked at yet because its processing through "Security" - i asked what this meant, they told me its usually instant but for some reason my order was stuck in this for 4 days so far, and furthermore, with NO UPDATES AT ALL FROM TESCO. I've held my card for 10+ years, paid with debit card, registered at my own address, i order online on a weekly basis and have never in 6 years had ANY issues whatsoever, not a single one, yet tesco believed there was a security risk. So basically, took a day off work (now lost) - paid for express delivery which they stated needed signing for hence the aforementioned leave, no apologies from tesco whatsoever, and when i told them i was unhappy and needed the phone with me tomorrow at the latest they simply cancelled my order and told me the refund will be on my card in 5 days. GREAT SERVICE TESCO, YOU SHOWER OF ...... (Fill blank, i have plenty!) I'll genuinely never ever use tesco in any way shape or form again.
