Good service, but two big issues.
If you live in a state that has automatic compliance, then it's a good product. If you live in a state that is not in the SST, they will charge you a fee for every transaction in the state. Apparently there is no way to turn that off and we are continually billed for transactions in our state that we do not want. We are currently looking at options to move to a different company as it was not clear when we signed up that this is how it would work. Update: It's nice that we can receive a review response within 24 hours, but customer service responses take days and weeks a time. What is not transparent is that we apparently are not allowed to opt-out of automatic calculations for certain non-member states. As we calculate and file our own sales taxes in the non-member states, we do not want to pay for a service we do not use and have no need for. This is especially considering our home state, which is a non-member state, is our primary sales location. The fees add up and hurt our small business. We have updated our recent experience rating from 2 to 1 stars.

Thanks for your review. The law is that you have to collect sales tax in the state(s) where you have physical presence - why would you want to turn that state(s) off? As you use our state paid service in our 25 member states (at no cost to you), we charge a 0.5% fee for sales in non-member states, which equates to a $50 fee per $10,000 in sales. Our pricing is transparently described on our website at https://taxcloud.com/pricing. This fee declines baed on volume per our Terms of Service which can be found at https://taxcloud.com/tos in Exhibit A. We'd love to keep your business and sincerely doubt you will find a greater value than TaxCloud. Update on 8/27/20 - We emailed the client asking to discuss the negative review with no reply. This is an odd "issue" - how/why would a merchant like our member state (state paid) service, but then calculate their sales tax in non-member states (fee-based service) on their own somehow?
