I've worked in service my entire life and understand the industry. TaxBit service and support have been absolutely amazing. They clearly have a great company culture and it shows. I have nothing but positive things to say.

Simple and effective

TaxBit has room for development regarding the wallets and exchanges it can access at the moment. While I am well aware of the amazing speed of development in the cryptosphere, I was surprised at how long it took me to actually get my tax reports done perfectly. However, your support service was always at hand and worked hard about all this. We have now solved the problems for the present. Thank you TaxBit!

The good: Customer support is great, you never have to wait long to talk to someone The bad: the platform has loads of bugs and issues with alt-coins and non-mainstream exchanges (even exchanges i would consider mainstream... like kucoin and bittrex... it has serious annoying issues with). They do have the fall back of manually creating and submitting CSV’s, but this often doesnt solve native taxbit alt coin issues. To give you an example of an alt coin issue: taxbit thinks SBD (steem backed dollar) is “solomon island dollar”... and there is no way to fix this on the customer side (even with a manual CSV). This is just one example of a mis-read alt by taxbit, but there are a handful of others (i found no less than 5, former top 100 alt coins, that i submitted to customer support that taxbit is confused on and that have yet to be resolved) Overall: If you are newer to crypto and don't have an extensive history with alt coins and have mostly stuck to the biggest name exchanges (coinbase, gemini, etc) then taxbit should work fine for you. If you are not new to crypto and have been around since 2019 or earlier with plenty of exposure to alts and exchanges.... you are going to run into A LOT of issues with taxbit bugs; the customer service reps will help but will inevitably send your issue off to the black hole known as the “escalation team”. On a good day the escalation team will avg about a 1 week turn around time on issues (but double check their work, i have received “fixed” issues that weren't at all and had to be sent right back...and then had to wait another week) i currently have 3-4 active tickets with the escalation team that are preventing me from doing my taxes (but i have had around 10 total issues that needed to be escalated this tax year).... all dealing with alts, exchanges, and taxbit miscalculating data. I Attempted to start my taxes in early February using taxbit; because of finding continual issues that require the escalation team to fix.... here i am 24 march and still no where close to finished

I would have chosen six stars if that was an option... TaxBit was the only service that offered live direct support (via chat). Four other such services i looked into was accessible only be emailing. My questions went unanswered for days; one failed to reply at all. Don't make the mistake I did and chose a company with a poor support platform. I ended up cancelling my credit card payment and looked into others. Because support was high on the list, I tested four products services. TaxBit toped them all in some many areas. I would definitely suggest using TaxBit. My suggestion to use TaxBit was shared with my tax accountant/CPA who's somewhat new to Cryptos.

TAXbit meets an important need with it's tax prep and consolidated portfolio data reconciliation. There are some improvements and continuing development projects that need to be addressed. First, they need to add a more user friendly data import feature similar to the Stock Assistant tool in TaxAct. Second, the Tax Optimizer could take some lessons from CoinStat. The Blockfi integration needs to be cleaned up. Pricing is attractive. No phone support but chat service is best I have seen.

I have been dealing with an 'unknown gains' issue going on 2 weeks now. I uploaded all my exchanges as asked. For some reason, I had unknown gains from a transfer from Gemini to Coinbase. I was then told to upload a CSV of all my transactions. I did that. Now I have multiple copies of transactions with different totaling amounts. I keep getting the runaround from the support team, no one seems to give me a definitive answer to solve my problem. Gemini support is AWFUL and won't answer, so I feel stuck, with no meaningful help from Taxbit either. UPDATE: I have raised the rating for this experience. After some time and multiple messages with support, the support team really was able to focus on and help me resolve my issue. I am satisfied with the results, however, it did feel like it took way too long to achieve and was not explained well by some of the team.

Not only simple to use but support staff are marvelously helpful... Do not hesitate to hit chat, each time the respondent was quick, efficient, and provided substantial assistance.
