Arrived quickly, I wiped and reloaded (out of habit) the OS and noticed very fast performance. Daily personal driver since it arrived, absolutely perfect for my needs.

What an incredible disaster. I sent my laptop in for repair due to issues the board was having with RAM. Not only did they fail to repair the issue over the month and a half the laptop was in their care, they also mysteriously managed to break one of my 32GB RAM sticks in the process, a stick which is currently worth $500. They attempted to charge me to replace the stick they broke, despite the fact that they tested it and verified that it was working earlier in the process. How convenient that during a massive RAM shortage, they managed to end up with a broken RAM module. Needless to say, I won't be giving them another cent. Utterly unprofessional, to have the gall to charge a customer for a (very expensive) part you broke while it was in your care.

Hello, We’re sorry this repair and diagnosis left you feeling this way. We want to reassure you that our team would never intentionally damage, retain, or benefit from a customer’s hardware. Our technicians approach every repair in good faith and document their testing throughout the process. In this case, the technician first tested the system with multiple known-good RAM modules in both single- and dual-channel configurations. The system passed memory testing with those modules installed, which indicated that the motherboard and RAM slots were functioning properly. When your original RAM modules were then tested, one of them was found to be faulty. That finding was communicated to you, along with an option for replacement. We recognize that the length of this repair and our communication throughout the process could have been better. A month-long repair experience is not what we want for our customers, and we are reviewing what caused the delay so we can address it. We’re sorry we did not provide a better experience here, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention.

1. PopOS is amazing! 2. The keyboard is the WORST I have ever had in my life on any other laptops. The buttons are too small; "Fn" and "Ctrl" are swapped (in comparison with a default layout you can see on other laptops); when you press buttons the keyboard flexes downwards; the keys travel is very short. If there was an option to pay substantially more and get the regular keyboard (like ThinkPad or MacBook level keyboard), I would definitely do that. 3. Poor build quality: you really have to apply a lot of force in order to open a lid (again, never seen that on any other laptop); camera shutter almost has no friction.

Purchased a Thelio Mega - a power surge damaged our power supply and customer service took the machine in immediately and turned out a repair free of charge all in the same visit! Shoutout to Thomas Zimmerman and team for the fast, easy repair! Overall the machine has been a real asset to our team and we will continue to work with System76 for future computing needs!

This is the third laptop I've bought from this company. The reason I chose them without even considering other laptops is because (a) the laptops I have bought have been flat-out good, and (b) their support has been great. Let's face it: Chances are, any laptop you buy from any major vendor is going to work fine. But what happens when you have a problem? If it's with their hardware - which is what they sold you - they will probably help. Although how long you have to wait for that help, and how effective it will be, is anyone's guess. But what if you have a problem with the software? What if you have a Linux question? Or a question about any of the software that comes with your laptop? We all know that they'll probably say something like, "Well, that's Linux (or software package XYZ), so that's not our problem. We suggest posting your question on a Linux (or XYZ) Help Fourm" Not System 76. First of all, you can talk to a human within a couple of minutes - without going through a ^%$#@! Help Menu recording. (If they are busy, they say they will call you back. And they do.) And when you are working with someone over the phone, that person will hang in there with you until the problem is resolved. I have had a few interactions where their tech support has literally spent hours on the phone with me. (And each of those times had to do with Linux "system-y" issues, i.e. not the hardware that they sold me.) And that's why, if and when I need a fourth laptop, I will buy it from them.

For identical specs about 1.5x price conpared to a Dell WinOS laptop (with minor design/weight advantages). About 0.8x the price of a similar Mac. Price needs to come down significantly to remain competitive, cannot sell Linux at infinite % markup despite managing the UI. The laptop would wipe out competition at $1250ish as opposed to current $2000ish.

Decided to get the newly released System76 Lemur Pro 16" after seeing the advertised long battery life and Intel Panther Lake chips and it has not disappointed me. Most definitely the best laptop I've ever used. The fans rarely come on even when running light games, and the battery indeed lasts when doing productive work. Keyboard and touchpad feel pleasant to use for the most part. Customer support is great and it's clear they know what they are talking about. Overall great option for Linux enthusiasts who want a very portable machine.
