Does what it says on the tin

It was great to find a keyboard that is configurable and that has replaceable parts. I got a launch with brown switches and I like it very much. Feels solid and the typing feel is fantastic - I look forward to using it! It was a little bit of an issue that it was shipped UPS with signature required. In my location packages costing less than $1000 are usually just left at the door. No one was at home when UPS came by and in this area they just deliver it to a local business for pickup, but not on the weekend. So I missed the delivery on Friday and had no option to receive the package until Monday.

I went to order a power supply cord for my Thelio Pro but it wasn't listed where I expected, so the wrong part # was ordered. Now you have the expense and I have the inconvenience of a return / exchange. A lot of trouble would be saved if the right accessories were listed right with the computer. Even better, if your ordering system knew what goes with what.

System 76 support people are very knowledgeable and really helpful. It would be better if the computer did not need support in the first place.

The operating system is awesome! The laptop seems great except that the charger/screen make a high pitch whining noise that is very irritating as a design flaw in the power circuitry. The inductor/capacitor resonance of the power circuit in the laptop operates around 17-18 kHz, just at the higher end of human hearing, around the same frequency as a mosquito's wings. Very annoying!

I have been a user/consumer for the past 5 years and just updated my pc with more ram and cpu for intensive scientific computing. the systems have been very reliable, and i love the philosophy of open source and ability to modify your own system.

Knowing that the machine was optimized for Linux. It seems a little expensive. My last one lasted more than 10 years. I didn't realize that it did not have a 3.5 mm plug so I will need to buy some additional speakers that use USB. We travel between MI & Fl so nuc size works well. System 76 still supported the old machine.

The service was prompt and friendly. The system works well.
