Allow me to start by saying I am currently a member in-good-standing of Amazon's invitation-only Vine program. I open with this so you can trust that I write accurate and helpful reviews. That out of the way, the short of it is that my order from Story In Steel was incredible! Read on for the full review. I'd never ordered from them before, but the concept was intriguing, and the examples on the site looked good enough to roll the dice. Being an anniversary gift, it had to be just right. The initial mock-up only took one day to receive from the artist. Whoever this was (a real person or just a computer program), they totally nailed it. I couldn't have been happier and insantly approved the design. After the cutting and finishing process, I received another update with a picture of the final product (unassembled). I could barely believe how closely it resembled the first mock-up. From that point, it was simply a waiting game for shipping. Once delivered, the product does require some minor assembly. This is easy enough, requiring no tools whatsoever. The spacers that raise the steel image above the wood background is a nice touch, adding a classy dropshadow behind the image. Would I order from Story In Steel again? Absolutely! In fact, I'm all but certain that SIS gained at least two or three more customers thanks to my wife bragging to her work friends about how well ours turned out. If you're at all hesitant about this company and their products, and you've read this far into my review, let me assure you that there is nothing at all to worry about. These guys are highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Our “artwork” was edited well and approved. Items ship from mainland china and take about 2 weeks to arrive via air mail from alaska. Quite expensive for what it is. I was disappointed in the overall quality and packaging. Seems more like an Amazon item than a few hundred dollars worth of custom work. Requires moderate assembly and is painted with cheap looking paint on a particle board panel. I would value it at 130$ in shipping and a 50- 100 dollar product. Not the wow factor I wanted for an anniversary gift.

The detail is so impressive. But the most amazing thing to me was how you captured the personalities of each dog. All three were very different but they were our pack! They were best pals. They lived good long lives. They have all crossed the rainbow bridge, and we miss them. But having this piece of art is so much more than a digital image on our phones. Thank you so much!

The process was so easy and the communication I received was spot on.

I bought as my 11th year anniversary gift for my husband. The art piece turned out exactly how I expected. The artist was extremely helpful when sending proofs, and each time I needed a change, they did it with no issue & in a very timely manner. Great talent, customer service & product.

Amazing communication about the product. I received a email and text about the picture to confirm. The picture I sent was exactly what was put in Steel. Our Anniversary is next month. I know she will love it.

It looks exactly like the proof! And arrived earlier than expected.
