Scott C.
good value graphics tablet, average customer support.
I have a kamvas pro 24 and I quite enjoy it, I am not going to lie I had a wacom 22fhd and it is a gorgeous bit of kit that kept its value but I ended up selling it. I use zbrush and with the ultra dense UI you don't end up with much room to have your model up on screen. Moving to the slightly larger resolution was great as It let me have my tones of little specific UI things I like to keep in panels on the side of the screen the glass screen feels good to sculpt on. I am speaking only as someone who enjoys making sculpts and not drawing so this review really only covers that. The feel is perfectly fine and since you are drawing on a model I've never noticed any issues with pen parallax or edge bevels being too big etc. I use the buttons on the side, and yeah the are a little bit flimsy but its a big upgrade from having none on my wacom (without buying the extra keypad), so a bonus there. The screen is a little darker than my regular monitor but it is perfectly fine for my office, since I'm sculpting not drawing it never really is an issue. The stand is actually not bad, its comparable with any other one, the pen feels nice and I haven't had one break yet. The drivers have been an issue in the past I have heard, but it has been plug and play on my windows machine since I installed it. I have done my hot keys once and I just sculpt in zbrush no issues. maybe if you use other software it will be a problem but not for me. Now, while I do praise the device. I did end up with a problem, the screen did show a error a few months in, and I still can't afford the 4x price of a comparable wacom and I hadn't don't anything specifically strenuous with the device so I felt that a replacement was warranted. I emailed during lunar new year festival, and as a guy from a western country I wasn't expecting to be told to wait for more than a week just to get an email back, we just don't get public holidays like that where I am. When I did get an email I got given the script that some people have mentioned here, I had to video the error and then try a couple of things. That was reasonable, however after I had gone through all that and was asked to ship the failed device back and pay for shipping for the replacement. I felt a bit let down as it was in no way my fault and I felt like they should have covered shipping. Like a lot of companies when working with Chinese suppliers the key is to really just hammer home that you need the replacement. That wont result in a quick turn around, but it will just make it more likely they will respond and action a response. I've worked with suppliers in China a fair bit in the past and if you aren't buying in massive bulk you tend to get forgotten unless there is a very straight forward process. To their credit though they did send out a replacement device 30 days after I contacted them about the issue, which was the honest thing to do so I can't say anything too mean about them. While the company can be a little opaque, if you are persistent and polite you can work with them, just be aware that you are buying a budget device and you won't get gold star service. If you rely on your tablet for work and you will lose money if you don't have one, buy something from your local store and keep your warranty... However if you are a hobbyist and you want a device that is punching well above its pay grade then the Huion Tablet is really great. Even after all that I actually bought another regular wireless tablet for my laptop when I am on doodling drawings so I guess I give this company a conditional thumbs up if you have the patience and understand you're getting a budget product. :)
