Very high prices, so-so quality meat at Sprouts
I bought two small turkey thighs and two packages of shoulder lamb chops at Sprouts in Tustin Market Place today. I had to wait for the turkey thighs to be packaged and because they were given to me in an opaque plastic bag didn't look at the price until I got home. I was charged $4.99 a pound for the thighs. Gelson's is selling whole turkeys for $1.99 a pound. I've never paid so much for turkey thighs. I slow baked two of the lamb chops today for dinner as I normally do with tomato sauce, onions and sliced russet potatoes. The lamb chops were tough and very fatty. Normally when cooked in this manner the lamb falls off the bone. Sprouts has very high prices and it seems the quality of its meat has declined. The two turkey thighs cost me $8. I won't be going there again.
