Look Elsewhere for Support, Especially If You Want Local. Knowledgeable Assistance
This company professes to have local advocates. At least in my case, they do not. My advocate is on the East coast, and I am in the Midwest. She said she can go to dr appts with me. How is she going to do that from 1,000+ miles away? Especially when she is still a nurse working a PT job elsewhere?! We've met a few times. Absolutely nothing has been accomplished. She did not even know if she could access my medical records, which is baffling because I was told she was reviewing my records and putting together a plan. I have a rare disease and complex medical needs. I have more than a dozen specialists I need help coordinating. And after a few 15-minute calls, she has done nothing for me. I don't think she understands my rare disease at all, either. I have no idea how she is supposed to advocate for me if she doesn't even understand the basics of my disease? I feel like this has been just been another healthcare runaround that is once again exacerbating my medical PTSD. In addition, because this advocate currently is working another job, she wants to meet on Sundays. Unless you want to jump through even more hoops than you go through with your doctors, fill out even more forms, and end up with more medical PTSD, look elsewhere than Solace for help. Such a major disappointment. They promise the moon and deliver diddly squat.
