Smalls is expensive, and they don't stand behind their food. My very finicky kitten simply wouldn't eat the kibble/freeze dried diet. I cancelled my subscription and asked to return the 4 unopened bags of food. They said they don't accept returns "due to Covid-19". That's a lame excuse. Expensive lesson learned.

Don’t waste your time or money. There are other/better companies out there who stand by their service and product and are more transparent with what’s in the food. I ordered Smalls on 2/1 and nearly 2 weeks went by with no communication. Last Friday, 2/12, I finally received an email saying my “shipment was being prepared” (not even that it had shipped yet!). That was fine, because I was traveling! 36 minutes later, I got another email that the food had arrived! Well, I was already traveling and was unable to get to the food until yesterday, 2/15, by which time the food had already thawed and spoiled. This wouldn’t be horrible, except they REFUSE to refund or replace the order after spending hours texting with them today. (They also REFUSE to call.) UPDATE: After messaging the COO and CEO on LinkedIn, filing a complaint with the BBB, and leaving these reviews, they reached out to replace the box and assured me there would be proactive notice and communication this time. YET AGAIN, they delivered the box on the same day they notified me it was shipping! I didn't get it until the next day and the food was already thawed. It's probably fine, but this company is a nightmare and the service is HORRIFIC.

We’ve been feeding our cats Smalls foods for a little over a month and I can say that the taste and quality of the food is great. We were feeding our cats canned wet food and when you open the can, you get that canned food smell but not with Smalls. The food (wet or dry) doesn’t have that “cat food” smell. It smells just like chicken which is what our cats love. Our cats really enjoy the wet food and we are currently trying to get them used to the freeze-dried option. We do our first and last feedings of the day with the wet food and the freeze-dried throughout the day. I like the fact that the ingredients are all natural and words I can pronounce. There are no fillers or by products and sourced through local vendors. The cat concierge team is quick to respond to questions or any potential issues. They are professional and friendly as well. Our subscription ships fast where my order is prepared on a Tuesday, ships out on Thursdays and I receive it by Saturday or Sunday. So the food is processed in a short period of time and never sitting on a shelf for a prolonged period of time. People may say that the cost is a bit more expensive but wouldn’t you want the best for your pets? The Smalls team will work with you to find a subscription that will work for any type of budget. I don’t mind paying a bit more knowing that they are getting the proper nutrition through good quality ingredients to give them energy and keep them healthy and maintain a good weight as they get older.

Good product, very difficult to understand what are you going to get. You are more focused on have a well looking website more than a useful and explanatory site. Should improve your website to make it more easy to understand what we need and what we are going to get

I'm a new customer. The $21.84 sampler box lasted only a few days. I thought for the price I'd get more food. I have a picky cat so I couldn't really tell if he liked an item long term because there wasn't a lot of it. But I could tell if he didn't like an item which was a few items in the sampler. Smalls has a funky fulfillment process so my first full order took 11 days to show up. Now I have enough food for a while and it turns out my cat thinks the food is ok. He seems to like his old stuff just as well. I'm switching between the two. Customer service is nice. The web site is confusing and needs to be updated. I'm on the fence with Smalls whether they will work long term for my cat so I'm giving them 3 stars.

Love this clean product, and so does kitty! She's usually kind of picky with certain foods and I love that I can choose variety of protein to keep kitty excited and also healthy 😉

Food is 5 stars. The starter kit transition schedule does not line up correctly with the delivery of the first box... this should be adjusted. Customer service is nice but not very accommodating with fixing order issues. I'm very much hoping that the next box will arrive before my cats are finished with the first one so there isn't any period of time with no smalls to feed them.

So far I've received a sample shipment and my first full order of Smalls and my 11-year-old cat is loving it. She liked the wet food immediately but wouldn't touch the freeze-dried stuff at all, even when I took her regular kibble away so she'd have no choice but to give it a go. Then I tried adding a bit of warm water to the bowl of freeze-dried food, letting it sit for a couple minutes, and stirring it up, and she's like a moth to a flame! It does smell horrible when you add warm water – if you happen to have ever processed a chicken before, you'll know the smell – but if it makes my cat healthier and happier I'm good with it. Bonus points for incredible eco-friendly packaging!
