I was a bit worried about any subscription food service, but Smalls is the exception to the rule. They sent out the 'test' food right away and the cats loved both kinds (two varieties of chicken). I am certain they would have easily sent me other varieties if needed. It was easy on their website to change the delivery amounts and intervals (since I am still giving my cats some dry food, I need only about half the standard amount). I was close to running out of the trial food (I did not have to slowly wean them off the other--once they tasted Smalls, it was all they would eat), and reached out via text and they promptly rearranged my next order to go out in a day. I could not be more pleased.

My cat has a healthier coat. She also got some personality back. She's an older girl and she has started jumping on the bed again. I'm very pleased!

My cat Gouda absolutely loves this food. She was on kibble for a while, and kinnle/wet food at the shelter before I adopted her. She always went f**** crazy for wet food and whwn I picked her up she snatched that stuff from the other cats, little rascal is small but mighty. Anyway…she would puke like 2-3 times a month and I got reslly sick of cleaning that stuff up. So I looked into Smalls because I get ads for them on insta like crazy (which stopped after I started buying it) and she has thrown up TWICE SINCE NOVEMBER are we forreal. Easy service and you can text a number to ask questions. Good product. Gouda is kind of a picky brat so she only eats the birds, not a fan of the beef or fish but hey she loves her winged friends.

Edited to reply to Smalls: He just doesn't like the new recipe, I've tried every way to get him to eat it. People know their pets, please stop trying to tell them they're feeding their animals wrong. Thank you for the refund, I do appreciate it. Original review: Before they changed the recipe, my cat absolutely loved Smalls. He would literally run to his bowl and eat every bit. After they changed the recipe to add "nutritional yeast" and changed to dark meat, he would just sniff it and walk away. He would absolutely not touch it no matter how hungry he was. I tried for over a month but no luck transitioning him to the new recipe. It's very disappointing.

We are so sorry to hear your kitty isn't enjoying their new recipes. From all the cats we've studied (for work and for fun), we've found that though cats can be creatures of habit most can be convinced to try something new with some transition tips. Unfortunately, we're no longer offering our previous recipes. We're so sorry for the heartache. We know it can be tough to find food your cat enjoys. It doesn't fully make up for the disappointment, but we've issued a refund for your last order. You will see the refund reflected in your bank account in 5-8 business days. We hate to see you go. If your cat is having a hard time transitioning to the new recipes, we recommend warming the food with some water or adding your cat's favorite topper (like their favorite treat or low sodium chicken broth) to pique their interest. Warming up Smalls is a great way to increase its aromas and highlight all the tastiest changes we've made. 😸

The customer service, the response time, and everything else is absolutely amazing. What one would expect for a new business and hope it continues. However the jury is still out on the actual product. Tried it on 6 cats and they were not quite impressed. Did I just have 6 finicky ones? The texture between the ground and the smooth is too close. Needs the difference to be more defined. Ultimately I will still purchase as the good qualities outweigh the lesser.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience! I'm so sorry to hear that Smalls was not a hit in your household. What we typically think of as a picky cat can sometimes be better addressed as a creature of habit. Over time, cats will get used to what they're eating, and will even prefer foods with high carb content and fillers - just like a human might prefer to have fast food rather than a home-cooked meal. Because of their acclimation to their current food, transitioning to Smalls can sometimes take up to 4 weeks! While that might sound like a long time to try something new, we hope that the benefits of Smalls will serve them for the rest of their lives. Let us know if you need additional transition tips. We're also working to introduce some new textures/recipes in the not-too-distant future! Perhaps they will be more enticing to your kitties!
