Hey Linda, so happy to hear it and thanks for taking the time to share!

***Update in response to smalls reply*** I’m not concerned about my cats transitioning!!! I don’t want them eating dark meat!! You changed the recipe to save money!!! My vet said too much fat in dark meat but it’s cheaper for you so you cut corners to line your pockets!!! Shame on you!!! They changed their prescription from dark meat to white meat because they want to save money obviously. My cats will not eat the dark meat now they only wanted the white meat so we had to switch to another brand in order for them to get white meat, which is better protein for them and less fat, very disappointed in this company

Hi Marilyn, we stand by our commitment to making quality food for cats, and we've worked closely with our veterinary nutritionists to improve our recipes (while keeping the core ingredients the same) to make them even more nutritious and appetizing to our feline friends. The cat panelists in our comparison study voted four-paws-up for the new recipes. But we understand that you may feel uneasy about the changes. From all the cats we've studied (for work and for fun), we've found that though cats can be creatures of habit most can be convinced to try something new with some transition tips. If your cat is having a hard time transitioning to the new recipes, we recommend warming the food with some water or adding your cat's favorite topper (like their favorite treat or low sodium chicken broth) to pique their interest. Warming up Smalls is a great way to increase its aromas and highlight all the tastiest changes we've made.

This is both of my cat’s absolute favorite. I tried to make my own from scratch to save money, but they just don’t like it as much.

Firstly, my cat really enjoys the ground bird they make. It is hard for me to find something my cat enjoys as he is a picky eater but I had no issues weaning him into this food. I appreciate how healthy these foods are and that is most important to me. Secondly, due to weather lately, my packages have been very much delayed. When I reach out to smalls to ask what to do they send a new package and they have offered discounts on next purchases and one was so late they also refunded me for the inconvenience. They have always responded in a timely manner so I appreciate the customer support given by smalls. I’m happy to use their products! I hope others look into this as an option for their cat.

Let me start by saying that I have NEVER heard the type of loud, anxious MEOWs (in caps because he screams them at me) that Candy Man lets out when he wants his Smalls. It took less than one day for him to become accustomed to the new food and by day 2, I was giving him all Smalls. Candy Man can barely wait for the dish to hit the floor and seconds later, the food is devoured. So far he likes the smooth fish and bird, but I’m trying all the flavors in my first subscription box. Candy Man normally regurgitated his old food, but not Smalls. He seems healthier, happier, and his litter box isn’t as stinky. Thank you Smalls!

Hey Amy, thank you so much for sharing your positive experience with Smalls and Candy Man! It is heartwarming to know he is loving the recipes and it has been contributing to his overall health and happiness. We appreciate you!

My cats wouldn’t eat the food. I tried different flavors, they wouldn’t eat it.

Hey Diana, thanks for giving Smalls a try! I'm so sorry it's not working out. Cats are extremely scent motivated, and the chill of the fridge can really mute the tasty aromas of Smalls. Warming the food with some hot water or ~10 seconds in the microwave can really open up the ‘nose’ of the food. That’s often enough to convince a skeptical kitty to give Smalls a try! We've also found that a topper or enticer will often turn a skeptical kitty around on something that they aren't sure about. Things like tuna water, sodium free chicken broth, bonito flakes, or any usual brand of treat that you already feed them make good enticers to help them get familiar with Smalls. We hope this eases the introduction. Feel free to reach out to us for any future assistance.
