shopgoodwillReviews of shopgoodwill.com

I just found a listing on shopgoodwill that was stupid easy to research the painting on Ebay found the Exact same original one sold on there 4/29/23 at 6:47 AM out of Muncie Indiana and now being sold tonight 5/11/23 at 10:20 PM on Shopgoodwill out of Spokane WA. Go to Ebay and look at completed items (Signed Walton Pastel Canvas Painting Lady with Child by The Water Flower Basket) or something that contains a few of the key words. The item sold 4-29-23 at 6:47 AM in Muncie Indiana. Now the goodwill website is selling the same Exact original one today 5-11-23 10:38 PM under the category oil paintings as (Walton Lazy River Oil Painting) when I went to calculate shipping to my address it states that it will be shipped from Spokane WA! Explain that hustle Goodwill!!!

purchased a plastic model kit for $50. estimated shipping prior to bidding. Once auction was complete, Shipping suddenly went up an additional $10. Total additional costs for shipping and handling were $40, for a 2lb package! what a ripoff !!! when I inquired about the additional fees, the "seller" told me too bad

I generally get what I pay for. You can use the internal message system to ask questions (don't ask at the last minute - or on the weekends - they aren't staffed up to handle that). And judge accordingly - failure to respond or goofy answers? - wait for a like item to come up for sale at one of the other stores. I have a list of twenty super-consistent stores - the merch is good and the communication is fair-to-good. I collect astronomical gear and I can tell you, my affinity websites - like Cloudy Nights - my peers are tracking these auctions and their bids are real (not shills). Bad stores? Yes, and even a good one can change staff and goof up. The Web staff - meh - and the last reboot of their website not so good. Edit: I added this comment b/c I saw a lot of complaints in this thread about shipping: Shipping: Yes, the shipping costs PLUS the handling costs PLUS the taxes can add up to more than the bid you put in for the item. Just look at the shipping calculator BEFORE you bid. Don't like the shipping & handling costs? Don't buy it. One other thing: they can't calculate the taxes before you bid because they don't know how high the bidding will go. So factor that in.

The worst experience I have ever had being online.. Buyer beware!! They do not disclose damage to items then will not take any responsibility whatsoever!! They want to profit from everything even Gideon Bibles which are "FREE" They sell on line!! The most for profit non profit on earth.. there is nothing Good about Goodwill!!

The auctions are a scam. They price gouge by shill bidding, insiders manipulate the price then they relist the item to keep running the price up higher. If you use this site, set your price low and stick with it. Don’t get sucked into shill bidding nonsense. Better yet, don’t spend your money at all with goodwill. It’s a for profit, corrupt company that also uses people like minimum wage dogs to peddle free goods that they run up. Worst company ever. I don’t know how they still operate or why anyone still does any business with them.

I was overcharged dramatically for shipping, on a very small light item. They are skimming scammers, and one should never expect to get a good deal anymore.

I was a long time customer, until their increase in prices to above retail, their ongoing site problems got worse, and when contacted, their tech support refuses to even fix the most basic of online sales problems with signing on.....an easy-fix problem that every other online sales platform in the world recognizes that if good& paying customers can’t sign in, that company doesn’t make sales. I have never seen that level of poor business practices in any company before. Also, the 5-star reviews below are for specific brick & mortar operations, not shopgoodwill. They aren’t even applicable.

Holy Hannah...the shipping cost!! + handling...double you tee eff. I thought I'd buy a few items to spruce up my wardrobe. I couldn't believe a bid I won for $9.99 turned into $21.23 and another from $41.97 to $75.20 with shipping + their handling cost. This should be criminal. Just..shaking my head. LAST time they will see me on their site. What are you doing Goodwill? You have deviated from your course.
