Hidden Gem! I Won a Dyson V15 Detect for $135
The item was listed poorly as "Dyson Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with Anti-Tangle Motorized Floor Head" without specifying the model (V15). However, if you know what to look for, you can find hidden gems here. I verified the serial number on the official Dyson website, and it confirmed this was indeed a V15 Detect. It seems only me and one other bidder realized the true value of this item, which is why the price stayed so low. I won’t claim the item arrived in perfect condition. It is a used donation, but I was confident I could restore it. Here is a breakdown of the work I did to get it running perfectly: Parts Needed: I had to 3D print a roller brush end cap (costing about $8.00 on Amazon). I also purchased a replacement charger, wall mount, accessories, and an accessory holder for dirt cheap. Total Restoration Cost: All extra parts cost me only $60 total. Cleaning: The most difficult task was the previous owner’s dogs. The unit smelled strongly of pets and was filthy. I had to disassemble the vacuum screw by screw, disinfect every single part, and replace the roller head and wheels. Great deal for a DIYer
