I was an early adopter of Shine Bathroom products and have been more than thrilled with the results. The ease of installation and the automatic cleaning has kept our bathrooms looking sparkling clean. I have ordered more as Christmas presents for my 30-something kids as they will love this product.

Good concept but terrible software and problem analysis. You are required to fix their software problems yourself. You receive an email to fix a problem for them but then when you attempt to sign into your account using the exact same email, it tells you that the account doesn't exist. You are told to change browser or use an apple phone. When you use an different browser the account still doesn't exist. I paid for unlimited cleaning pods but then was told that I needed to re-order the unlimited cleaning pods but you will not be charged for them. If this sounds crazy to you it certainly makes me think I have gone down the rabbit hole. It took me over two hours just to start up the toilet cleaner only to find out that it doesn't spray any solution. The customer support is nearly useless.

I preordered Shine and waited more than a year for my SAMs. I only received them after I emailed several timed and finally asked to cancel my order. Finally they came. First, they only work with a secured WiFi, which we did not have. It would have been nice to know in advance. Anyway, my husband bought a router to password protect it, so I could hook the units up. I charged them and hooked them up (after a lot of headaches) and the batteries drained within 48 hours. The help desk and text support took days to answer requests for support and NEVER actually read my detailed description of my problems. The website is totally NOT friendly. I actually found a solution by googling and not search on the web. This involved deleted the SAMs and reinstalling. I did it multiple times for two units. One is still draining in less that 48 hours. The second won't even connect or function anymore. I have two I can't even be bothered to hook up because I am so frustrated. I have emailed twice, requesting a help returning all the units for a refund. OF COURSE, no one is replying. I am probably now stuck with $400 work on useless plastic garbage. Please note for the few days they would spray (before dying) there was no real impressive or noticeable cleaning. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT BUY THESE THINGS. They are pricy and full of headaches, with no real value.

Hi there! So sorry for the challenges you have had trying to get a response so you can return your units. Our team has been busy helping out and has gotten a little behind. We have live chat available on our page during the day and would love to help you out. Someone from our team will attempt to reach you and see if we can get this sorted.

We have incredibly mineral rich water, which means we need to clean our toilets about twice a week. We were super excited to learn about Shine toilet assist cleaning units. We invested in their early development program and got two units out of it. We received the two units as a part of their early release program and while I'd love to say it was perfect, we ran into problems with each of them. When they worked well they were amazing! We went from cleaning the toilets every few days to nearly not at all. In fact, the only noticeable thing was a minor toilet ring that showed up after 3 weeks!! This same ring would be there after a day and a half previously. So let me tell you this was plenty of reason for joy, even with the issues. So talking issues, apparently one of our units had a once in a million issue. We showed pictures to the support team and they instantly sent us a replacement. The other had this issue the battery drained constantly. This one just required a move of the water sensor and that fixed that. While both were not ideal out of the box, this is new tech and yout may have noticed I'm still giving them 5 stars on this rating. A huge part of that is their customer service has been A+ throughout. Their customer service was there to answer and suggest fixes (or straight up fix) every issue. Their customer service arm is beyond awesome and was one of the most incredible bright spots of this whole program! From some of our initial questions, throughout all of these issues they have stayed so on top of every question that we've had. They are one of the primary reasons we have now ordered a third unit for another bathroom and added on some subscription items offered by Shine. I feel like a bit of a homer writing this review and gushing over it all, but I swear I'm just another dude who hated debating with his wife about who cleaned the toilet last and now does that a lot less!

Great concept, but actual experience was meh. Battery dies every couple of days and requires USB-C - USB-A to charge (why??). The app is really light weight and doesn't (currently) offer much beyond setup of the device. Finally, the device started leaking into the battery housing and I've now just dumped it into the trash bin - using a brush and cleaner is just less a hassle.

I purchased the Shine because I was having hard water issues in my new home. I was having to clean the toilet frequently prior to hooking up my Shine. Since getting Shine, I have only had to clean the toilet bowl one time. The device works great. I can see the difference and smell the difference too. I appreciate the safer cleaning method, and that it runs automatically. Everything has worked well with the technology except for one hiccup. There was one moment where the unit was not waking up from sleep upon a flush cycle. I simple turned off the power (removed battery from unit and placed back together), and it solved it immediately. I expect these things with technology as it's the same with computers, cell phones, security cameras, etc. I initially had issues with the app when I went to place a reorder with my Shine Unlimited. For some reason it had not be input properly into the system. The customer service quickly responded and got it addressed. They immediately sent me the pod refills to ensure I was equipped with extra pods before I would run out. The unit itself is a great design, easy to install, and easy to maintain. The instructions are clear. The entire process has been very smooth. The battery life is decent for as often as we use the toilet in my house. The device does not come with the charging cables. Most people have the cable needed in their home. For me, I only had lightening cables which do not work. I ordered a cable from Amazon and it worked great. I have heard the Shine company also sells the cables for a reasonable price but I wasn't aware during the initial purchase process. I am very satisfied with my until and have already recommended it to my friends.

This product was simply released too early and it simply doesn't work. Nor do I know any "real person" who has not been paid for their glowing review to provide positive remarks. Another Reviewer's story about gaining access to the "private" facebook group which is controlled by the company - only to then be kicked out of the group for attempting to engage with FAQ, product information, and troubleshooting is a common story. I personally, was very excited. I work a lot of hours every week and was thrilled to have a device that would ease if not remove a benign chore that is easily and frequently forgotten. Pros - As of yet, none - I have had the device for almost 3 weeks and I still can't get it to connect to anything let alone "work" Cons - The Shine bathroom app, is not congruent with the Shine website, you need two accounts. One to manipulate the device, and one to manipulate your account. When you need to access your account, the app takes you to the website which you need to again log in. The Shine Bathroom app, isn't finished. There are a lot of things that was said that it "would" do, that it simply doesn't. Some things that are in the app, simply say "coming Soon" Alexa Integration - The device is flat advertised on the website and anywhere else that you look that Alexa can manipulate the device. It doesn't as of yet. Connectivity - The device is only supported by 2.4ghz wifi band, which most routers currently only broadcast in dual-band and not all of them can separate the bands out again. My Router can, the device doesn't connect in Dual-Band (Which the tec support video specifically says it should). But it also doesn't connect to my 2.4 band. Believing it may be a distance issue, I bought a wifi extender - and it still does not connect. Marketing - ever since receiving my device the website, the app, "support" all link back to these paid consumer testimonials about how this device is so amazing and so easy, and you just need to do these quick simple steps. It is very clear that this is how Shine "wants" it to work, and how they "planned" for it to work - but it doesn't. However every paid youtube, google search, and facebook search is designed to prevent a customer from finding any community with others who have purchased the device. Everything leads back to their employees, and their resources which either don't work or arent helpful. Support - Contacting support is largely a joke, from my experience thus far. The Text message is rarely answered, and when it does; it automated to have you schedule a video Conference. When you email, you get an automated reply to check their videos, testimonials, and FAQ pages and if after that you still need assistance to reach out. I am not tec oblivious, I have done everything and more the FAQ & Videos have said to do and it doesnt work. I have scheduled a Video Confrence, and waited almost two weeks for that appointment. Four hours before the appointment, my zoom call was canceled. The reason for cancelation, left blank. The more problems I have, and barriers I encounter the more digging I am doing and I just keep finding more people who are having the exact same problems as me, who are being drowned out by paid reviews and paid testimonials to trick people into buying a product that isn't ready. Spend the 10 bucks on scrubby bubbles; at least it does what the label says it will do.
