I have been a maybelline girl my whole…
I have been a maybelline girl my whole life. I recently switched to sephora mascara and I no longer get the black flakes under my eyes with their product. I switched over all my products: face cream, concealer, bronzer, the works. Not only do I get exceptional costumer service, but the girls help me find the tones that match my skin properly. I had been using the wrong color for over thirty years. I look fabulous now, thanks sephora!!! You saved my face.

Awful Online Shopping Experience(s)
This is with regards to the online shopping experience, while shopping at the store is mostly fine. Online, they are THE most disorganized company I've ever tried to shop with online (both in the US and France). Never received my order, never got a straight answer from even supervisory level staff. No one knows what they're doing and no one takes responsibility. Order from anywhere else but these people. Beyond awful.

The store is great
The store is great, I loved the customer service, everyone was super attentive and polite. However, the prices are higher than in other places. You could buy some of the products in your local supermarket for half the price, but I will definitely check this place out during the sale.

Better Experience with the Customer Q&A, but Still Fine
I was surprised to see the negative rating that Sephora has. I've been shopping online at Sephora.com for at least ten years, and I've never had a bad experience. To my chagrin, I made Rouge status one year--Oh my! I have had issues and had to deal with customer service, but the issues were always solved properly.
Once, Sephora did not receive a return in a very long time, and they just credited me. They told me that if it came in, I wouldn't get a second refund. (Of course not!) But I was stunned by that. I figured the best they would do was give me a discount code, if anything. I didn't even ask for anything; I was just asking if there was any way to track the package if I used their label. This was back when they gave you peel off labels with the order. They said no, but given how long it had been, they would just go ahead with the refund.
Now, I did not give them a 5-star because they do not seem to know anything about the products when you call in. If you can read, you can get all the same information they have. I called in once to ask about a lipstick color to replace a discontinued color, and they knew nothing, another time to ask about fragrances, and all they did was read what was on the site to me. Wait times are also a little too long, but overall fine.
I'm also VERY MUCH not a fan of the fact that they have removed the customer Q&A on the site. That chatty-chat garbage is exactly that. Garbage. I want to look up the issue I'm concerned with about a product and 9 times out of 10 find the answer to my question right away. But now, I'm supposed to pitch out the question that has probably been asked and answered 100 times already and wade through dozens of people saying things like "this is such a pretty lipstick" when my question was "Does this lipstick bleed into lip lines?" before anyone even starts to actually answer the question. What a waste of time!

Extremely unhappy
Extremely unhappy. I really thought that sephora was really about their business.
I visited during the holidays to inquire about a make up consultation for my 16yo. She wants to learn her colors, determine what's best for her skin and skin tone, etc. I was told "oh it's free, just stop in with her "
I stop by in January and we were met by two people who really appeared to hate their job and told us to make an appointment for a consultation. Ok, we did then show up for the appointment 2 weeks later and were met by another person who appeared to hate her job and not eager about helping at all, perhaps due to the appointment not properly written in the book.
Nonetheless, I went to get coffee, my daughter called about 10 minutes later and I came back to only see her eyes done with some wild color. She wasn't asked about her skin, desires, nothing... no recommendations, no nothing. The young lady was also rude to her. Truly disappointing. She told my daughter that a full face starts at $50. That would have been fine, but I was never asked or given an option.? There were no recommendations or anything, just watched us walked out. I called a private professional artist and was happy to pay the $150.

It’s been a good and bad experience
I like to believe I am a patient person, who doesn’t often complain to a company about their service, however I’m a little disappointed. I purchased some products 5-6 weeks ago, one of my products was broken and some of them were a little dirty. I assume it happened in transit, which I know is something they cannot control. I reached out to them about it and they were nice enough to offer a refund or replacement. I asked for a replacement because I tested the product and liked it. They said they would arrange for a courier to pick it up. 5-6 weeks later (and 24+ emails between us), the courier has finally picked it up! I tried to be positive about the situation, however i spoke to several different employees trying to arrange the pick up, and when they told me a courier was picking up the product (at a time I had work and had to get someone to wait for the courier to come at my house) no one showed up. I was happy to know that finally I had done all I needed to and now I’d be getting a replacement of the product I’ve been waiting almost 2 months to use, however now the item is out of stock so I have to just get a refund. Sure a refund is better then nothing, but if things had been more organised, I like to think it would have been some smoother and maybe not sold out before mine could been replaced. I don’t want to make a complaint directly to them, just want to vent a little. Hopefully my next shop with them will be a better experience :)

DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM SEPHORA
I bought about $200 worth of products online. When I emailed for the return address for just one item!! the customer support guy "John" emailed me back asking very strange questions and this went on for 2 WEEKS!!! when he asked why the foundation didn't suit I said because its the wrong tone and it doesn't go on smoothly. He then proceeded to ask to see a MEDICAL CERTIFICATE. Of course I replied saying how insane that is. I still don't have a return address... I can't believe it. Sephora online is one big scam they make it incredibly hard to return anything. Go to Mecca or adore instead!!!
