I paid £200+ AS WELL AS £75 customs fees for the Rainbow Sequin Puff dress, and it comes looking like something out of Shein. The dress is advertised as opaque with pastel sequins. My dress came completely see through with bright sequins. It looks completely different to what is advertised. And the real kicker is I used my measurements to find the best size, and it turns out that the dress is way too small! Having come here though, looks like my parcel will probably get "lost" on the way back if i try to return it and I won't be getting my money back - I definitely won't for the customs fees. So disgusted at this brand. Should have just bought a rip off from Shein and saved myself a few hundred. SCAM - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

DO NOT BUY!!
I honestly did not expect to be writing this. I have been following Selkie now for about a year and have always wanted to buy from them. I have had my eye on the Austen Marshmallow puffer for around 3 months and recently purchased it. I was so excited to receive it. However, I wish I hadn’t! First of all, and this is not at all Selfie’s fault, were the import fees. Now, I knew I’d have to pay something towards it being shipped into the UK but £103 was not on my list! I was shocked! I’d already paid £272 for the jacket alone (which i’d also noticed that the item price kept changing on the website!) so I wasn’t very pleased to have to pay this too! I received the item today and oh my gosh the quality! It is so bad! You can honestly tell that the puffer has been returned to Selkie before as it has a mark on one of the bows, the brand label is half ripped out and there is obvious signs on the actual labels which are removed once you’re happy with the product that they have been pulled and crumpled! Do they not check when an item is returned that it is good to send out to another customer? I cannot believe it. The actual quality of the jacket is poor and feels very cheap which I am appalled at. If this was my product that I was selling, this would not be making itself out of the warehouse. I have decided to keep the jacket as I do not wish to have the palava of sending it back to America to then have to pay import fees again to get another one imported! They obviously sent it to me knowing fully well I live in the UK and couldn’t return it without problems! Do not buy from this company! As much as their items look beautiful, it is not worth your money. Trust me. Selkie do better!

l ordered a dress that never arrived at my place. I proved to Selkie that it arrived back to their storage through online shipping tracking, but they nevertheless refused to reimburse the dress. That's scammy behavior - a scam.
So beware - as you can also become a victim.
Now I'm opening up about their capitalist behavior publically and I will also write this exact letter on other platforms.
Know yourself, Selkie.

Disappointed by Unexpected Return Costs and Lack of Communication
Unfortunately, my experience was not as positive as I had hoped.
Upon placing my order, I was excited about Selkie's products and the promise of high-quality service. However, when I recently decided to return an item that didn't meet my expectations and sizing, I encountered an unexpected issue. The costs associated with the return were significantly high (above €120,-), and even more disappointing, I was not informed about this beforehand.
I understand that every company may have return costs, but transparent communication is crucial. In my case, Selkie had ample opportunity to inform me in advance about the possibility of return costs and the fact that these costs would not be reimbursed. This would have significantly influenced my decision to return the item. I probably wouldn't have gone through with the return had I been aware of these costs or not take the risk at all making the sale.
I appreciate the company's response to my concerns, but I hope that Selkie will actively inform its customers about potential return costs and policy changes in the future. Open and transparent communication is vital for building trust between customers and businesses.
I hope that situations like these can be avoided in the future through better communication.
All in all, I am disappointed by my experience with Selkie. As a prospective customer, I value transparency and honesty, and I hope that Selkie will uphold these values in the future.

Great dresses and customer service!
I bought two dresses during one of their sales and received both in a timely manner (within the week). The dresses were well-made, the fabric was high quality, and the cuts were all very flattering. I ended up having to exchange a dress that was slightly too large for a different style since my style was out of stock. Customer service was very helpful in giving me sizing advice for the exchanged dress and I wish I had asked in advance about any sizing particularities before ordering. The exchange process was super easy and seamless and I received my exchange quickly. All in in all, I am very pleased with my purchase and I would absolutely shop from here again.

Inspect returns, pay customer service more
Definitely not the fairytale experience I was hoping for.
I had a very mixed experience with Selkie. I ordered the Last Unicorn pastel Marie dress. The dress arrived covered in animal fur. From my research on the refund policy, the site made it sound like Selkie inspects returns very closely. This dress was a clear return that hadn't been inspected at all. It was pretty gross tbh, despite the fabric looking like it had been nice before being pounced on by woodland creatures.
On the other side of that coin the text message customer service rep was very helpful both times I spoke with them. They really salvaged the situation. I would maybe order from Selkie again, just nothing Final Sale because the quality is a toss up. This was honestly really what was most surprising. It was a letdown, but customer service lessened the disappointment.

Completely disheartened
Completely disheartened. You know that gorgeous black Marie Antoinette dress? The Caviar Marie. It’s stunning in the photos. In real life, more like shocking disappointment.
It does arrive looking nearly the same as pictured but the fabric is such poor quality; stiff, heavy, not breathable, uncomfortable, and makes no sense why it’s used on a dress. Especially one that costs $249. It feels like a bad costume made of table linens. Not real clothing. (I’ve been cosplaying and making costumes for theatre’s for over 20 years and I’d never use such poor quality fabric as this dress is made of)
Equally bad, the sizing is WRONG. Originally I went up a bit more than my measurements to “be safe” and chose Large. The zipper wouldn’t close midway, though there definitely was adequate room (albeit less than the website measurements). I returned it, fast and easy, for an even bigger XL, which should have been significantly oversized on me. About a week later what arrived was surprisingly a SMALLER FITTING DRESS that was tight, with yet another cheap zipper that sticks badly midway.
Truly I did not want to give up such a pretty looking dress but the poor quality of fabric, cheap zippers, and incorrect sizing, was not worth it.
I have owned my share of high end designer pieces in my lifetime and I expected at the very least decent mid-range quality for all the hype. The only praise I can give is for the exchange and return process. Begrudgingly I returned this little “dream dress” hassle free, for a refund (minus shipping).
I sincerely wanted this dress. As it stands, I’m sorry to share that unless they fix those issues I absolutely do not recommend Selkie to anyone.
