Some of Selkie's dresses are exquisite. Others seem cheaply made, especially the cotton dresses. For the price, the quality should be much better. They're lacking simple things like linings or loops to hang it. The fit and sizing is inconsistent. Customer service with Selkie is abmissal. The send an AI response that seems personal pretty quickly, and it says they sent it on to a department and I'll here soon. Ive contacted them about multiple things and have never once heard back after that initial AI response. For the price, there are better options.

The dress was delivered very quickly. For $400, the quality was surprisingly bad. The zipper would not zip up and the material was extremely uncomfortable. Their return process is also extremely poor for a brand of their caliber. I returned the dress immediately after I received it and it has been a week and a half since I received an email from them saying they received the return. Provided they do say that returns take from 5 - 10 business days to process. That is still ridiculously long as most other major brands process returns and refunds within a couple days of receiving the returned item. Very disappointing and will not be purchasing in the future.

Definitely not the fairytale experience I was hoping for. I had a very mixed experience with Selkie. I ordered the Last Unicorn pastel Marie dress. The dress arrived covered in animal fur. From my research on the refund policy, the site made it sound like Selkie inspects returns very closely. This dress was a clear return that hadn't been inspected at all. It was pretty gross tbh, despite the fabric looking like it had been nice before being pounced on by woodland creatures. On the other side of that coin the text message customer service rep was very helpful both times I spoke with them. They really salvaged the situation. I would maybe order from Selkie again, just nothing Final Sale because the quality is a toss up. This was honestly really what was most surprising. It was a letdown, but customer service lessened the disappointment.

I was so excited to receive my puff dress order but the size chart on their webpage was unfortunately off and I ended up with two dresses that were too small (and that is after being meassured by other people too and being absolutely sure that I was getting the right size according to their webpage). I ended up sending them to a taylor because I couldn't afford exchanging them for a bigger size and then having to pay the incredibly high taxes again. I believe they might need to recheck their size chart and otherwise be more specific in how to meassure your size. Besides that I have tried to contact Selkie for 2 months now and have not received a single reply. The costumer service is nonexistent and it makes the experience feel very unsafe, especially when you're spending a big amount of money on their products. I love the dresses but it pains me to say that I wouldn't recommend buying the dresses online.

Ordered the Bridal Bloom Gown and the pink Rapunzel Dress. I measured myself before ordering and used their size guide to purchase, but the Rapunzel dress was huge on me (the Bridal gown was only slightly too big). They said to buy based on your bra size which I did so I’m unsure why the fit was so loose on me. I think they need to make it more clear that if you want it a tight fit across the bust you should size down. The dress itself is amazing, really nice heavyweight cotton fabric and really pretty. The Bridal Gown fabric wasn’t really what I was expecting- it felt cheap and shiny. The design of the dress is beautiful though. I am in the UK and paid £260 in customs fees. I know this is not Selkie’s fault, but I thought I’d mention it in case anyone is thinking of buying from the UK. Some US based stores like Revolve include customs fees so you don’t have any surprises. Selkie could look into doing something like this for their international customers.
