I was a long time TD Ameritrade customer until they were acquired by Charles Schwab. My experience with Schwab has been terrible ever since. The do charge fees on stock sales even though they advertise that there are no brokerage fees. This is a change from TD Ameritrade. They also push financial advisor services on their customers through phone calls and scare tactic emails where they warn you about the dangers of how you are invested. They are dishonest about acknowledging that I had been previously contacted by prior advisors at Schwab. The latest one called my spouse initially who is not the primary manager of the accounts and did not reach out to me directly. I have also spent considerable time requesting repeatedly over a half dozen phone calls with them, that they stop sending me their periodical magazine. I don't read it and I would like them to stop creating waste. Each time they acknowledge my request and note that it won't happen again, yet it continues. They cannot be trusted. I wish they had not purchased TD Ameritrade.

Compared to Principal, Schwab is great. ThinkorSwim is a solid trading platform. Funds seem to take a long while to settle but the fees are night and day compared to Principal

Takes too long to reach a representative. Been on hold for over 30 minutes. There is an issue with their app and I cannot place a trade.

I opened a new Schwab account trying to get in on the space x IPO. Their minimum is 100k so I deposited almost double thinking they would treat a new high customer good by giving me at least half of what I asked for. Instead they gave me 46 shares. Ridiculous. That’s how u treat a new customer?? Crazy. Don’t bother with Schwab, they only treat their long time multi million dollar customers first. 👎to Schwab. Ralph W

It took 4 calls to roll over a 10k Ira. Stretched out over 3 weeks. This involves an old 401k already in Schwab to move to IRA still in Schwab. I’m glad I am not taking the money out. It will probably take a year.

This review is mainly about Schwab's custodial accounts and setting up a contingent custodian. They do not cover the event of a under age beneficiary having a contingent custodian except by sending you a paper form thru snail mail. VERY POOR PLANNING by the legal dept and the Accounts dept. I wish TD Amtrd had bought Schwab instead. TDA was far advanced than CSchwab.

Schwab’s handling of the SpaceX IPO was disappointing and unacceptable. For such a high-profile offering, clients should be able to rely on accurate, consistent information. Instead, I encountered confusion, contradictory guidance, and poor communication throughout the process. Schwab’s lack of coordination and accountability made an already time-sensitive opportunity unnecessarily frustrating.

Calls to the Pledged Asset Line get disconnected without being connected to a representative. The Schwab Rocket Mortgage line does the same. When I called for "live help" after 30 minutes of being bounced around and on hold I finally hung up. Schwab is supposed to be a good company, this is not reflected in their customer service. It's horrible.
