We appreciate you considering us for your financing needs, please note that Santander Consumer USA establishes the contract rate based on factors including the down payment, vehicle value, the applicant’s credit worthiness and credit rating. We provide contract terms for the applicant which they can either accept or reject at the time of the application approval. Anytime an applicant feels that a payment or APR isn't affordable they do have the option to reject the offer or can try and negotiate the cost of the vehicle with the dealership. I would rank this 0 stars if I could. I am extremely angry. I just bought the car and the first payment wasn't due until 9FEB25. I wanted to get ahead of the game, so I made 2 small payments totaling $200. When making the payment, there was NOT an option for a principal reduction payment, and I would later find out that because it was made 30+ days in advance, it automatically defaulted to principal reduction. It never stated that anywhere. I called and asked this after I made a full payment, and was told since the major payment hadn't posted yet, I need to call back and ask to have the original $200 go toward the March payment. I did, and both the customer service rep and supervisor told me they can not actually do that and I basically lost that $200. My payment reflects the full balance due 9MAR25 when it should be $200 less. I am trying to get ahead of the game with my payments but have been told I will be penalized for doing such. As a result, I definitely will not be a repeat customer of yours and would be excited if my account got sold elsewhere.

I was disappointed when i try to get pre-approval i got the email saying that is was "dinned" but my credit score was 815 and credit card history with 26 plus years and i have account with Santander for many years. why and how that happened? that's why i gave you 3 stars.
