Worst interest rate possible!! A Joke!
Worst interest rate possible even with a decent credit score and payment history. Won’t make this mistake again. Typical dealership behavior getting perks to assign people to this company! Hey everyone check out their fake office copy & paste! This would be another reason for no one to use this company, But let me shed some light on their fake response- In 2023 I bought a new 2023 Chevy Silverado custom off the sales floor with 12 miles on it- had a 530 Credit score and because the finance department at Maher Chevy wasn't in bed with companies like this one-they secured a loan with GM financial for 12.5% and fast forward to now and 21.9% with this crooked company and have excellent payment history and a 615 credit score....tell me how does this make sense to real working class people! Oh----and found this out after digging....... Reports, settlements, and lawsuits indicate that Santander Consumer USA has engaged in predatory lending practices, particularly within the subprime auto loan market. A multi-state investigation led to a $550 million settlement in 2020, based on allegations that the company intentionally approved high-interest loans for consumers who were likely to default. Key details from investigations and settlements include: High-risk loans: Santander was accused of knowingly placing subprime borrowers into auto loans with a high probability of default. Misleading disclosures: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) found that Santander engaged in deceptive practices by not clearly disclosing the terms of its loan extensions. This led to consumers accruing thousands of dollars in surprise interest charges. Insufficient monitoring: The company was cited for failing to adequately monitor car dealers that falsified borrower income information. Credit reporting inaccuracies: In 2020, the CFPB ordered Santander to pay a $4.75 million civil penalty for furnishing inaccurate loan information to consumer reporting agencies. Loan forgiveness and restitution: As part of the 2020 settlement with 34 attorneys general, Santander agreed to provide millions in consumer restitution and waive hundreds of millions of dollars in outstanding loans. Changes in practice: Santander stated it has since "strengthened [its] risk management across the board" and improved its underwriting practices to ensure affordability. It is important to note that most of these allegations and settlements specifically concern Santander Consumer USA's past subprime auto lending practice Note: to Santander Customer service and auto loan department-you still may have time to remedy this- you know my number, like you said in copy and paste- Have a nice day!

Hi Russ! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We hate to hear your experience hasn't met your expectations. Please keep in mind that contract terms and rates are determined based on several factors, which may include the down payment, vehicle value, and the applicant's creditworthiness and credit profile. The approved contract terms are provided for review and can be accepted or declined before the agreement is finalized. If the monthly payment or APR doesn't meet your needs, you may choose not to accept the offer or discuss the vehicle price and financing options with the dealership. We hope this information helps clarify the process. Have a great day!
